  • The Groundhog Day saga re YE credit balance continues with emails received from SP and YE today.  I did receive my final bill/statement from YE over a month ago and yet no sign that my credit balance has surfaced at SP yet.  I even sent them a pdf copy of said statement but SP obviously need to receive these credit balances through the proper admin to SP channels rather than direct from the punter.

First from Scottish Power (today this morning): .....What we have done is contacted Yorkshire Energy to investigate if your final bill has been produced yet, if it has we have requested that a copy of this is sent to ScottishPower to allow us to apply the credit to you.

From YE (today after email sent): ....This credit should have already been sent over to Scottish Power - please ask them to double check this on their side.

I may have to phone Scottish Power in the morning to double check and the answer from them will probably be - 'we haven't received it yet'

and then what?  I cannot put in a formal complaint to YE (because they are in administration).  I cannot phone YE.  Apart from not giving up what is one to do?  I'm fortunate in that my credit amount is just under £50 and yet I am still tearing my hair out.  My sympathies to those awaiting larger amounts.
Not sure how much more of this I can take when you get totally opposing statements from the two parties involved.

Any complaint would be against SP for failing to apply the credit. As far as you can ascertain YE has done what is required, and it is a matter for SP to sort out in any case.

I have been waiting significantly longer as an ex tonik customer I have now been told finally it is definitely on its way next week we shall see; my credit owing is five times higher and it’s been a nightmare, he did say they were focusing on getting credits sorted for Yorkshire and tonik.
  • From the conversation I had with Scottish Power today, accounts ending between 70-76 inclusive have not been processed yet by them.  Mine falls into this range :/ .  Quite a decent conversation it has to be said.  I agreed to another call in a week or so if no sign of the credit.

Would that be accounts with digits 7 and 8 falling in the range 70-76, assuming everyone has an 11-digit account number?

In a similar boat.  Received my final YE bill on 10th Feb and still not credited to SP despite a few email exchanges.  My YE account ends in 716 so guess this may be included in the tranche you mention.

I should have stated YE accounts ending 70 to 76 rather than SP accounts.  My YE account is a 6 digit number xxxx73

Anyone whose YE account number falls in this range who has yet to receive their credit or has already received their credit,  I'd be interested to know just in case I have been fed a load of codswallop.

I received my final bill on 8th February. SP took a direct debit last week for their final bill, but I chased YE and a cheque came from SP yesterday, so we're done and finished with both companies. Interestingly YE still show us as being in credit............

  • so over 3 months in, made our usual calls. 'we don't know how long it will take'. someone elsewhere told me it could take months yet.
way beyond a joke. no bill from yorkshire energy despite having hundreds in credit whilst the same amount is sitting in debit with sp. have no intention of giving them more to reduce the balance. i do wonder of this is all a ploy by sp to keep customers paying over the odds for a long period of time.
sp seemed totally disinterested. i wouldn't stay with them if they were the last energy company on the planet. i'd rather rub two sticks together.

You sound like you're in the same boat as me, I'm £500 in credit with YE. I haven't heard anything from them. Yet again, I've asked them when I'll receive my final bill and credit.
That said, I left SP at the start of this week. Final bill and payment with them in the next 4-6 weeks I understand.
