It's quite clear SP are happy to bill using customer reads rather than chase validated reads from the new supplier. Providing validation doesn't lead to a deemed read all is well in the end, but where there is a discrepancy it means reopening the account and issuing a revised bill some weeks later. There seems to be a significant problem with the non-half hourly data collectors.

The YE credit appeared in my SP account on the 4th March so I am expecting SP to refund it this week I have left my DD open and hope they pay it direct to my bank, we'll see
Does it appear with the payments?
No it appears in my balance
No refund received as yet so it's maybe another call to get it sorted

Just took a look on my SP account and my balance as now gone from £226 to £45 this is after paying my final Bill the 1st March.
Further looking at the last Bill online it’s showing cancellation charges of £44, I normally take a look at my account in the morning but just my luck didn’t bother this morning, will definitely be a phone call tomorrow morning.
    Anybody had this?

    What about the cancellation fee??
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
  • I'm sure that SP will be entitled to bill me for those extra units when the CoS readings have been finalised even after the 6 week period (where I am at now) so I'm treating what they call the 'final bill' as a 'final interim bill' (if that makes sense).
FYI, Found the supply licence conditions that I had not seen before
    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/system/files/docs/2021/02/electricty_supply_standard_licence_conditions_02_02_2021.pdf
I believe SP would be within their rights to amend my so-called final bill looking at p212

27.17 Where the responsibility for the supply of electricity to a Domestic Customer transfers from the licensee to another Electricity Supplier or otherwise terminates, the licensee must take all reasonable steps to send a final Bill or statement of account of the Domestic Customer’s account within 6 weeks of the supplier transfer or termination of the Domestic Supply Contract.
27.18 Where subsequent information becomes available to correct an error in the final Bill or statement of account issued pursuant to paragraph 27.17, the licensee shall send a corrected Bill or statement of account as soon as reasonably practicable after the subsequent information becomes available.
Another document to add to the ever growing pile of guff gathered since early December.

Reckon it was just a paperwork exercise, that particular bill is not showing in my SP account now.

A direct debit takes 4 working days, but it is not a direct debit it is a faster payment or BACS payment. The latter takes 3 working days.
