    Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Avro say my statement will be available within 5 days, but my final electricity DD is going out on monday and they seem to have estimated that I run a cannabis farm.

    Yes get in touch with them and tell them the opening reading they have used for your bill is wrong and they need to amend it and reissue it. You can't be charged for the same energy twice. You can provide them with your final YE bill to help. 
    Yep was yet another phone call but sorted now and they’ve redone it. They insisted on an interim reading from Jan (they had these opening ones and one I have in mid Feb). The meter ticked over to 00000 so handily had a picture of it and knew the date.

    Still unclear as to how YE got that reading but if it originated from SP then they should have updated their own systems at the same time.

    I declined their offer to give them my final readings as submitted to Octopus, think they can wait for the proper process there. 

    Hopefully Octopus don’t go bust anytime soon, this is my second time leaving SP in just over a year.

    I got the same generic email today. Seems a bit far fetched to say they’ve ‘started’ to receive that information but hey ho.

    Incidentally my call to query the SP opening read last week seems to have been in vain. Lost 20 mins on the phone yesterday to someone who was slowly explaining the basic logic of an SP starting figure being higher than it should be, means paying less to YE. 

    All fine... except I’m fully aware of that and the reason for my query is that SP are therefore taking extra money when it should have gone to YE’s cheaper tariff.
    If it's an estimated read then you can't do much about it I guess?
    I fortunately read my meters on the 5/12 when YE ceased trading. I've already told SP the correct GAS reading twice. Giving them until Monday to fix the situation. It just happens that I'd be paying £10 more. That's not going to happen on principle.
    Reading the early pages of this thread, I could never see why people were getting wound up. I'm beginning to understand why now!  I'm so glad I decided to switch away.
    In fact I've decided to raise a stage 2 complaint this afternoon. I've also asked for compensation to cover the hours wasted on this. All I wanted was my initial gas reading to be correct (not their industry std, reading in their favour). They can then bill me correctly. I have no doubt they'll want to take their money on time (I'm moving elsewhere on the 7/3).
    Always, always, take a photo of the meters when you read them.

    Sorted the YE "Final Bill" (quick responses from YE administrators thankfully). Now to wait for the credit to turn up with SP.

    ........................SP collected their final bill amount on the 22nd Feb
    I have left SP but left the DD running why can't SP just pay my credit into my bank account instead of sending a cheque
    I mentioned in a post a while ago, they've collected the final bill, I've left the DD in place, the credit has appeared in "My Account" and it says it will be paid to the bank account, quote "As your account’s in credit, we’ll automatically refund your balance into your bank account. If you cancel your Direct Debit, we’ll send you a cheque."
    So we wait to see if it is!

    I've finally had chance to analyse my final bill from YE and the final (and only) bill from SP.

    I had to contact SP previously as the first final bill they issued had the incorrect final electric reading. They alleged I had used a week's worth of electric in a day, however, a quick "chat" got this resolved. The opening gas reading was also incorrect. They were alleging that an actual read on 6/12/20 was more than I took myself on 8/12/20, but as this was in my favour I decided to wait for the YE final bill.

    When the YE bill was produced this week, YE used the closing readings I took on 8/12/20 for both gas and electric, so I was happy with that, but it also confirmed that the SP opening "actual" reading was too high, to the tune of £25 by my reckoning. 

    The way I see it, it is recompense for messing us around and lying about actual reads, (they alleged used 15  kWh in 4 weeks and 87 kWh in the next 3 weeks???), which I find disgusting, although I still have to wait for my credit from them.
    This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune! :doh:

  • Are YE administrators still going through final bills? It's been over two months and I still haven't had anything yet. Really shocking, just want my £72 credit!
