I can now see my SP DD as a pending transaction and it is for the correct amount after the YE credit, so all is good on that front. Meanwhile, it has been 42 days since I gave my opening readings to my new supplier and still no indication these have been validated.

Had my final YE bill through.
The gas tallies up with the SP starting point but as feared, the electricity is wrong and therefore as it stands I've been billed (and paid twice). At least the YE electricity reading is higher than SP originally pegged it at, so it means the spend that was with them, has stayed with them. It might even be the one I originally supplied on the webform but I've no record of it to confirm.
It does mean that at SP's rates, they've billed me for another £43 that has now been claimed by YE. On the plus side, I no longer have to worry about any credit balance from YE as it's been gobbled up.
Do I need to contact SP yet again to amend their start read, even though they're the ones who passed this to YE?0 -

If people gave their readings around 6th December as requested then there would be no estimated bills.
If people do a switch from SP before they got the credit into their account first then SP will obviously not be giving those customers priority as they have signed away from SP, also there will be more of a paper trail to get the funds from A>B>C so will take longer.
If your electricity is Economy 7 and you're using the national average of 42% night use then SP's current Energy tariff is similar to other offerings, if single meter or mostly day rate, not so.
YE have been remarkably inefficient.
We gave our readings 6 December and then gave SP our readings a couple of weeks ago on our online account as set up and got the bill from SP which was correctly charged from 6 December. Just (finally) got YE bill, which was again correct up to 5 December (as i'd given the readings when asked to). YE credit will go into our SP account in next 4 weeks, fine, after all have evidence now to what the difference was from credit to final YE bill (which was correct); and from my manual workings out are correct. SP are entitled to charge their Energy rate from 6 December when they took over the account (or would you prefer to have had 2 months with no electricity at all??).
Frankly, no issues, just taking a long time to resolve.
My parents did a switch recently, same situation, switch went fine however as I said to them, expect to have to bring the SP account up to zero as your contract is with SP not YE, then the YE credit will follow in due course, which is a separate matter.0 -
I have now received a 2nd final bill from Scottish Power using my readings rather than their estimates giving a 25% reduction in the bill. This seems reasonable, but as yet I have had no bill from Yorkshire Energy, or my new supplier Neon Reef so I cannot comment on whether the reading at point of transfer are identical....

I got the email too. My YE final bill came 16 days ago but still hasn't been credited to my SP account

One useful tip I have picked up from here, is to take a picture of all my meter readings a) for the reading b) for the date stamp. It is something that I have done occasionally before, but not regularly. Just think of what the suppliers would have been getting away with if we hadn't been keeping an eye on things, and following up if necessary. Funny how 90% of 'errors' are always in their favour.../cynical.3
