Forgive me if this is already covered somewhere in the previous 164 pages, but, now that many of us awaiting final bills from YE have gone beyond the 6 week limit, (it's now almost 8 weeks I think) do we still qualify for the standard £30 compo, or does this not apply when the supplier has become insolvent?

Got round to checking my YE account today which is in credit
I presume the Energy Exclusive Scottish Power has put us on is a variable tariff ?
No it's fixed for at least six months and a deemed tariff so no exit fees

Even if that were the case who do you think you would claim it from/should pay it.....given that YE presumably has little or nil money left (especially after the administrators have taken their fees and the creditors ahead of you in order of priority, eg HMRC, have been paid...)?  Be nice to have the extra £30 but I think that would be slightly optimistic and I doubt very much if it applies in case of supplier going into administration.

If it were a regulatory requirement then there is a case to be made for it coming off the final bills. Though, as you say, I won't be holding my breath.
My understanding is that SP (as the SoLR) would have to cover any shortfall once final billing is done, since our credit balances are protected. The challenge here would be getting that £30 onto our balance in the first place.

YE replied within 15 minutes, and indicated that they are in the midst of producing 74000 final accounts. Meanwhile, they are using different figures to SP for mine. Super.  :(
As someone remarked above, what cost can you put on the time spent sorting this out? And who do you charge it to?
What exactly do you intend to claim for and how?
That wasn't really a serious suggestion, but the point is valid. What would a solicitor charge for, say, 10 hours? Similarly, what else could I have done with those 10 hours? Lockdown notwithstanding.
A solicitor can't charge you a penny without you agreeing to their fees in advance. A solicitor is able to agree a premium rate for their time with clients because their qualifications and experience are required for the tasks they engage in. If they were mowing their elderly neighbour's lawn, phoning their energy supplier, or responding to posts on the MSE forums, they wouldn't be charging anyone their professional hourly rate. They might well do these activities for free.
It should be pointed out that administrators have legal protection from liability associated with their actions on behalf of the company in administration. The best you can do is make a formal complaint against SP, but this is unlikely to be successful if it relates to things beyond SP's control.

It is a regulatory requirement, but there are two questions that need to be answered:
    1) Is there an exemption for transfers to SoLR (does it even count as a switch)
    2) When is a transfer to SoLR deemed completed
As well as the 6 week time limit for final bills, there is also a 15 working day time limit for a switch to complete.

I think we'd be better whistling in the wind than thinking we could get £30 compo :D

Final YE bill just received, and it matches my own calculations and record of my readings. That's a relief, just need SP to do their bit now.

Yes I've just re-checked my 2nd final bill as well (forgot about 5% VAT) now reconciles to the penny.  Glad my original bill was corrected as quickly as it was this afternoon.  Hope they did not forward the incorrect bill credit to Scottish before they rectified their original mistake!

Got the final bill from SP today and settled it (as it was wrong but in my favour ).  Just had confirmation the account is closed .  Hopefully they will just send me a cheque as indicated when my YE credit is finally determined.  Judging by the fact that others are getting final bills from YE hopefully mine will be forthcoming shortly.
