I just emailed (YE) to clarify what meter reads they were using for my final statement from them (not had them yet). They confirmed that the reads I gave to SP (in response to the 7th December email I received) were the ones that are used/going to be used for my final bill/statement and that the bill will be up to 5th December - all as I expected.Deleted_User said:YE replied within 15 minutes, and indicated that they are in the midst of producing 74000 final accounts. Meanwhile, they are using different figures to SP for mine. Super.
As someone remarked above, what cost can you put on the time spent sorting this out? And who do you charge it to?1 -
No different from what we've all been saying and has already been posted. You won't speed any of that side of it up. Just get on with your switch if you want to switch.Deleted_User said:YE replied within 15 minutes, and indicated that they are in the midst of producing 74000 final accounts. What exactly do you intend to claim for and how?Deleted_User said:YE replied within 15 minutes, and indicated that they are in the midst of producing 74000 final accounts. Meanwhile, they are using different figures to SP for mine. Super.

As Chris says, you can't speed it up, especially on the YE side as they are in administration. Just start a switch to a new provider if you don't intend to stay with SP. Then let SP sort out your final bill whenever they get round to it. If the readings are wrong on the final YE and/or SP bills you can deal with it at that point. Keep in mind that opening and closing readings you give providers are not always the exact ones used on bills, they sometimes get "validated".0 -
Just now seen my final bill and unfortunately YE have done something which I hope they can rectify and quickly. Basically they have billed me up to January 1st (instead of December 5th) and then used estimated reads for the closing read for both utiities - the charges from 3rd-5th December (for gas) are in line with what I was expecting but they then bill me from 5th December-1st January (using an estimated read as the new final)! The electricity just shows 1 calculation from 3rd December to 1st January (again with an estimated read for the end date)! I have emailed YE again and will post back when I get a reply. This could get messy for me as it now shows a debit of £23 instead of a calculated credit (by me) of circa £45 - hope this incorrect last bill is a one-off rather than a new batch run that has spectacularly derailed!

EDIT: From YE this afternoon Your bill has now been corrected up to the 5th December. This leaves you with a credit of £45.44, this will be transferred to Scottish Power.

That wasn't really a serious suggestion, but the point is valid. What would a solicitor charge for, say, 10 hours? Similarly, what else could I have done with those 10 hours? Lockdown notwithstanding.bagand96 said:

Sorry for going over old ground (for you, at least). I'll try harder.Phones4Chris said:No different from what we've all been saying and has already been posted. You won't speed any of that side of it up. Just get on with your switch if you want to switch.1 -

Well. if YE administrators use different closing meter readings to the opening SP meter readings I'll be cancelling my DDM, stopping any payments and disputing the bill.

Did you not get the link to the YE Welcome page when you had your first email (you'll also find it on SP's homepage).2Sheds said:Got round to checking my YE account today which is in creditI presume the Energy Exclusive Scottish Power has put us on is a variable tariff ?
That page had a link to FAQ's and part way down the page was "What energy tariff will I move to when I transfer to ScottishPower?" And the "click here" link leads to -

As you haven't had a final bill yet, I'd wait and see what that actually says, it can always be corrected if they do end up different.Deleted_User said:................. Meanwhile, they are using different figures to SP for mine. Super.
