I made a complaint and their reply has this:
We would like to assure you Scottish Power has acted in accordance with the guideline of being the supplier of the last resort since 06.12.2020 and as such the accounts of all the customers would take upto 3 months to be set up completely before allowing any tariff or supply change.
Is this true, I can't find anything from ofgem that supports this https://www.findmysupplier.energy/ now shows Avro are my gas supplier, even though my Gas has disappeared from SP system but in the email they have said that the gas switch is still in progress.

I'm now with Green Energy. If they fail I will either stay with the SOLR or move to a big-name supplier. Once is enough!

Fortunately I avoided them. Knowing what I know now, if they show up on the national database as your supplier already then I would switch immediately and pretend you didn't notice the news.

Just tried to do the daily log-in to my YE account to check for any progress. The following message appeared:-
"We couldn't find an account that matches those details, have you registered your account yet?"
Mine is still there, are you sure you entered your details correctly?

No, it is Green Network Energy which has collapsed, not the company Green.energy I am with.

Hmmm - I've not seen anything that suggests this 3 months timeframe in the most recent guidelines I could find on the Ofgem site.  So the above reply (which I assumed you got from an email you sent to Scottish) are the rules according to Scottish Power (but not according to the Ofgem guidelines seemingly).

    see page 18
    Customers Change of supplier process
3.14. Ofgem policy: A SoLR must be able to operate the relevant change of supplier processes and bring the customers onto the SoLR’s own systems promptly in order to minimise disruption to customers and other industry participants.
3.15. Reason: To minimise disruption to customers of the failed supplier (e.g. enable them to be billed) and other industry participants.

Yes, I tried several times. Working again now - must have been a glitch.

Thinking about it ...Given that others seem to have managed to get away quick when they initiated their switch from YE as soon as it was announced they were ceasing trading I wonder if it's worth starting a switch back to SP on their 2022 super saver fix today and taking advantage of the £50 credit offer to switch back they sent me the other day (or even somebody's £100 referral..although I suspect that's disallowed as being with them, albeit forced, within last year).
You'd need to check the terms of the referral scheme. Most have a term excluding people who have previously been a customer (within the last X months/years).

*@*!@*! Now Green Network Energy has gone bust! Am I jinxed?
    And Simplicity.  Falling like dominos.
Oh s**t...just as I've switched to Simplicity.  This is gonna get fun ....not!!

Thought I'd have got 6 months out of them at least...

Wonder who the SOLR will be....SP possibly 😬

My sympathies. Moved to Yorkshire eight months ago thinking the problem with small companies going bust was probably sorted and was the first time I ever used one of the smaller suppliers apart from the Co-op a few years ago. Indecently, that was fun when the Co-op  billing systems became corrupted and they were incapable of ever supplying me with a final bill. Anyway, how wrong I was! Never again; not worth the hassle. Move to Shell completed on 25th December. The biggest of the non big 6 suppliers and backed by Royal Dutch Shell, so am confident wont go bust. Also only £50 per year more for me than Yorkshire, admittedly after the big rise in Yorkshire's variable tariff. Despite reputation, customer service has been superb. Getting through on the THREE occasions so far when Scottish Power has tried to  "capture" me back, after my switch away from Yorkshire before Scottish Power was appointed SoLR, has been almost instant using chat and they immediately block the switch.
  • Just checked my old YE account it shows no bills or payments and the balance now shows zero
Does this mean SP have had the final bill and it's being processed onto my old SP account I had over £200 in credit at YE, I have the downloaded invoice from the 5th Dec showing £214.62
""Balance at your last statement 3 Nov 2020 £212.64 Credit Charges Energy Charges up to 5 Dec 2020 £41.95 Standing Charges up to 5 Dec 2020 £4.01 Discounts £0.00 Subtotal £45.96 VAT at 5% £2.30 Total charges for this period £48.26 Payments and Credits Payment on 09 Nov 2020 £50.24 Credit Total Payments & Credits for this period £50.24 Credit New Account Balance £214.62 Credit""
