I spoke with them today and they are having lots of issues with the app and it's being worked on over the week by the developer. It's best to either wait a few days before trying again or call them and leave your number and they call each person back once your issue is resolved. All applications will be honoured. They were super helpful and super friendly.2

My FP to the app account is showing. No sign of my paper based account yet, the staff are probably ankle deep in applications. I too found them friendly and helpful when I phoned them last week.1

Got my passbook etc in the post today, posted FC 20/11. A bit shocked by the Standard Charges. 'Providing a letter confirming additional information about your account plus the balance' £25. That's solicitors' rates!
Balance correct as at 19/11 when my cheque was posted but my issuing bank still not debited, even in pending.1 -
I've ended up with the two accounts that I'm happy with but I don't have a copy of the T&Cs for either of them! The guff received today in connection with the passbook account is of no help either and it could be the end of the correspondence. To ease the pressure on them I've e-mailed rather than phone.0

Customer Service have confirmed that the app does not currently have a log out button but, as mentioned above, is being developed.
Meanwhile, he claimed swiping up would close the app - did not on my Samsung S7,
and, failing that, will automatically log out after two hours.
I shall continue to Force Quit then.
Other than that, I found the experience of opening and accessing the account, smooth and painless.2 -
My cheque for paper based account is now showing as pending in my bank account.0

With the loss of HSBC (£250pm) and First Direct (£300pm) to just 1% fixed RS now, this Tipton product (£500pm) is really holding its weight already.
Happy chappy 😀1 -
It's surprising that Tipton went the App route so unprepared, especially having the online version available. It seems rushed. I'm happy with the basic situation - £500 in each, both cleared. However I'm locked out of the app as they don't recognise my PIN**. My only anticipated contact will be checking monthly that the SOs have reached the accounts and I can do that by phone (as I do with Leek, Nottingham).
** Just had this e-mail reply:"This is a known bug that is affecting a small amount of customers. This is going to be fixed in our next release which should be available Thursday."

One thing has been proved though, how excellent their customer relations are!2
