Go out for a run/walk/bike or tram ride every morning and explore Manchester.   Keep busy!  What did the bf do when he felt homesick in NY?

Thank you and thank you everyone.

Boyfriend got us some take out from an American place near by. We had some American sodas left from his Birthday and we've had a nice evening so far.

We talked about his time in NY he talked about when he felt homesick he used to connect to a server back home and watch TV, or he would just go for a walk or a subway ride, or go to central park, visit a British store or "go to this little diner/restaurant/bar he knew to see a New Yorker he liked. I said I might do what you suggested @bouicca21 He said to try the tram rides and if I find they help he will get me a season pass. We live near a park, Like Central, So I'll take a walk there tomorrow.

I guess I've moved to Manchester at the worst possible time.
  • Please don't ride trams around just for the sake of it right now.  We are in lockdown, and Greater Manchester hospitals are on the verge of being overwhelmed.  Stay at home except for your daily exercise please.

I am I went for a walk in the park this morning, I still feel in a slump. My boyfriend hat a chat with me and have promised to show me the lights and sounds of Manchester as soon as he can.
  • The same boyfriend who in your last post told you to try riding the trans to feel better?

He didn't say that I should do it straight away.
  • I can help you with all of this as I am an American expat in the UK and have been for almost a decade so happy to help!

Another low day today, Went out to the park. Feeling sorry for myself. Also feel that I've ruined my boyfriends world, that he would be better without me.

I'm very sure that's not true. Acknowledge your low mood and do what you need to do to feel better, but don't convince yourself these negative thoughts are true.

It's a really difficult time right now. Is there anything you can do to fill your time, such as study something or volunteer somewhere? Do-it.org might have some ideas or see if there's a local volunteer centre.

Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
