I stepped on a plug. Never ever going to do that again!

Since I am meeting my boyfriends mother over skype. I am thinking of sending her an afternoon tea on deliveroo or something. or is that too formal?
    Ouch.
Afternoon tea sounds lovely I'm sure that would be appreciated.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

As long as she's not on a gluten-free diet, that sounds like a good idea.
You're living in England but you've got your American 'norms'- don't lose yourself completely while trying to be English.

I think its lovely, but for me a bit OTT (it puts pressure on) - just have a coffee, it's an informal meet & greet really.
I see your point. I just wanted to make a good impression.

I think afternoon tea is a bit OTT - but would be great once lockdown 2 is over (if it ever is).

Whitstable is on the Kent coast, famous for oysters.  Lovely place to visit (once you can).

I agree afternoon tea might be a bit OTT at this stage, but ASK YOUR BF especially as presumably it will be going on his credit card! And the full works will be pricey.

He may say "Yes Mum would love that" or not ...

I have money, I would use my Chase visa not my boyfriends credit card.

If I was back home, I would have baked and had his mom round and made cake and coffee myself.

I would tell her that and say, as that's not possible, you're doing the next best thing by sending her cakes.
