Someone mentioned tv shows, some you could watch, inbetweeners, Fawlty Towers, IT Crowd.
Give Snatch, Lock Stock 2 Smoking Barrells a try to see what the south call different things.0 -

You Brits have the upper hand on breakfast. My boyfriend made me a sausage and bacon barm. He got me to try something called "HP Sauce" or "brown sauce", That stuff is AMAZING.
Also thank you to everyone is helping me. I really do appreciate it. Not looking forward to a lockdown thanksgiving (A US tradition I'm sharing with my boyfriend!)Been around since 2008 but somehow my profile was deleted!!!0 -
On clothes sizing I've found there is about a 1 1/2 size difference between the UK and US sizes, I'm a 18/20 (closer to 20) in UK sizes but find that trousers are slightly too small at a 16 US or just too big 18US (mainly old navy sizes), can't really win. Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada  :dance:0

I don't buy panties on ebay, I stick to new bra's as my size is not normal, well in the states anyway, Its considered large.
H&M is what I considered back home as a "posh" store. I saw a Uni Qlo in Manchester City center.
There is so much I want to explore0 -
Riley_G said:I've joined my towns local facebook page and been put in touch with some board game groups. My boyfriend has said our neighbor might play chess and it could be a fun when I see him or he see's me to give me his move or my move. I ordered some board games from Amazon because I couldn't find a toy store in the local town, I found the bookstore (waterstone?) that had a few.
One thing you Brits have better than the US is your TV, At my boyfriends we have something that I can only describe as DirecTV we had it in the place I worked for the sports, but the choice is amazing. I also love how fewer adverts you have!
I have found thrift store. I don't have a lot of clothes, so I loved the quirkiness one lady said to me "You are American!" :') She then proceeded to try and sell me a load of British clothes from "Brands I'll never see again". like BHS, C&A, La Senza. I also was told Primark was the place to go for lots of clothes cheap. Just working out my sizing in various shops is a nightmare, Converting from US to UK.0 -
If you are living in Manchester, you will need to decide whether to support Manchester City or Manchester United football teams. Chances are you boyfriend and all his family will support the same team, probably Man City if he is from Manchester. Easiest to support whatever he follows.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
