MovingForwards said:One of the major grumbles with us women is the sizing of clothes, unfortunately being a size 10 could be an 8, 12, 14 depending on which shop you go into and varies within the shop depending on manufacturer. It's always best to try them on before buying, near on impossible at the moment.
Stick with trying to buy a few items to get through winter and worry about sorting your wardrobe properly next year, or whenever things are normal.
i read that clothes manufacturer have intentionally made the size smaller to flatter the customer but also that people are getting bigger with the passing of time and so they don't want people to think they are actually getting bigger by negating this with reducing the clothes size.0 -

Bras I'd get measured for in John Lewis or M&S and then buy them in TKMaxx . TKMaxx is always worth a look, although I think it's getting a bit expensive. They have good handbags.
I can't afford everything at the moment. Boyfriend is buying me things but I feel bad when a bra in Victoria's Secrets/Boux Avenue is £25/40 but as someone suggest ebay is great!
I was told about Missguided. Asos and topshop. Not had a look. I will look at Zara.
M&S I was always told was for the elderly. I hear their food is great but expensive.
primark and matalan, i find a bit too cheap.
M&S food is really nice though pricy. they do very nice christmas food.0 -
H&M is my favourite, but I tend to buy bits and pieces from all over the place. M&S is not exactly cutting edge fashion but it can be good for clothes for work.
Also don't discount the supermarkets for clothing, Asda, Sainsburys and Tesco - you can get the odd great thing in there0 -
M&S is great for quality underwear, at a reasonable price in a wide range of sizes and styles - it's not exclusively for the "elderly".
You can also buy a good range of clothing basics in M&S. I'd also recommend Uni Qlo for jeans, tshirts and knitwear (and the heat tech thermals).
Underwear on ebay is something I'd avoid like the plague.0 -
I was told by some friends that you go to M&S and for their underwear and the food. Makes me laugh they are known for those two items. As I'm treating my boyfriend to thanksgiving dinner I might go to M&S for the items.
I don't buy panties on ebay, I stick to new bra's as my size is not normal, well in the states anyway, Its considered large.
H&M is what I considered back home as a "posh" store. I saw a Uni Qlo in Manchester City center.
There is so much I want to explore0 -
