NST: November 2020 - Madness!!!

Sorry once again haven't been posting much. Work has been hard going, very emotionally draining and stressful, did 22 hours of overtime just over the weekend so very tired but at least lots of extra pennies. Have lost count of NSDs but budgets are looking ok other than the food budget, somehow have just under £40 left for the rest of the month. Should manage though as have lots of food in.
Am off work today so the plan is to clean the flat and do laundry, get out for a bit of fresh air, prep meals for the rest of the week, post a present, do a small top up shop (just need coffee and veg) and drop off some shopping to a friend who is self isolating. But first another coffee, hope all turtles are well.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £106,033.77

NSD No 8 yesterday.
Got a few things ticked off the list but not all. At least it's a start after my laziness of the past few weeks.
I think we'll be going into near lockdown up here so I've booked a delivery slot for Sunday. I think they may become a bit more difficult to get after that.
Himself did manage to get his hair cut. He had to stand outside in the cold for a little while but it was worth it. He looks more human now and it's definitely added to his sense of well being. We were hoping to start getting out for a morning walk but the weather here has been just awful. Heavy rain and strong winds so not today. Maybe next week.
So I'm off to fill in my list for today and see how we go.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Hiya TurtlesWhat a gorgeous day it is here, warm but windy. Had a lovely wander along the promenade in my lunch break. Really high tide, a film crew out on the beach, pier being built and bit of sunshine.Hopefully I have inched closer to getting my floorboards level, fingers and toes crossed.Today will be a NSD taking me up to 9/15.Grateful forNice weather todaySeeing a round rug I like - will have to measure first.Feeling a lot happier today.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/225

Today am grateful for getting petrol 10p per lltre cheaper than elsewhere, for finding a good range of gf/df foods for a hamper for dd, for tech making communicating go smoothly, for making time for some sewing, for dd still wanting to tell me about her day.

Tuesday- NSD 11/18.
Work all day, and not done much else.

NSD No 9 yesterday.
Did quite well with yesterday's list. I'm getting into a bit of a routine again and adding an extra little cleaning job and tidying a drawer or cupboard every day. Maybe the house will be looking presentable by Christmas (am I allowed to say that now?)
As I suspected from Friday we will be in a semi lockdown until at least 11 December although I'm not sure how much of a relaxation of rules there will be even then. Only essential shops and schools open and it will be illegal to cross the local authority border. That's a bit of a blow because some of the local shops that I use are over the line. Oh well, just have to improvise with what I can get.
OK. Off to sort out today's list.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Morning Turtles. I am recommitting to yoga everyday this week, and it is a challenge and last week was a challenge for a different reason, lots of sadness. All is well really though, all loved ones are safe and sound and the sun is shining here in Brighton.
I am declaring another 2 NSD's.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0

Today is NSD 11
I have just spent about 30 seconds doing a job that has been on the list for flippin' months. I drilled a hole and put up a picture that has been sat on the floor against the wall since July (I think). Why on earth did it take me so long to do? It just got shunted from list to list to list, and now it is off the list and on the wall. Hooray! If I achieve nothing else today at least that silly little 'I'll do it later' job has been done, and along with my two planters for spring, it has been a productive week.
Two down six to go. Each will be quicker than the last.Today is a planning day. I have written the list of people I need to get things for, and people who I need to make a token gift for who I will see face to face, and I will do an inventory of my baking cupboard supplies to see what I can make and gift for minimal spends. I know I have a million currants, anyone got any ideas apart from ants on a logor eccles cakes?

Mummy of twins came round briefly yesterday but we put a bucket of my sieved soil over the 'rockery' and pushed it into the gaps, divided the sempervirums and added handfuls of a creeping spreading plant and a couple of primulas. I decided it was too late to start painting the gate (the silver paint finally arrived, black came weeks ago) or do the little job (hah) mum has dreamed up - putting the newly dug up edgings around the front garden to stop the stone chippings falling all over the path. M-o-t promised to come on Friday if the weather is fine, next week if not. I measured it this morning and it is 23 welly boots = 11.5 edging pieces (think they are 2') - we have six whole white ones and two that need painting (pulled them out of the ground where the rockery was going). Lots of bits but not sure if mum will want us to use those or just assume that we have enough of whatever material there is to do particular jobs.
Love my room and will continue with tidying (not nice enough to work outside) and now have the craft supplies for several projects (trying to be realistic and not start a dozen things and then struggle to finish a few.
I am grateful for food (had a lovely salad), throat sweets (helped me get to sleep after several hours coughing), being determined to seek out joy (life has been a little flat recently) and the snuggly wooly quilt.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

For me today is the start of my new year so happy new year turtles!!! 🎉
March to a different beat. - this one is the biggest part of the challenge for me - I've quit smoking and given up alcohol for the month! 🙈 Fingers crossed that i make it 😉 have done fine on the alcohol- let's not mention the fags 🙈
Alternate spending - at least 15 NSDs My new annual budget starts today so this one shouldn't be too difficult - I hate shopping anyway and without fags and brandy to buy I have no real reason to venture out! I'll aim for 20 days 😊 done 14 so far! 🙌
Donate – I have a bag of clothes lurking in my office which my sister gave to me to give to my dd - they weren’t right for her so need to go to the cs...I need to do that this week! I also donate monthly to my fave charity 😊 didn’t get to the CS in time - will do after restrictions are lifted
Nesting – I love my house! Last night we had a fire and it reminded me of how much I love being where I am 😍 I need to get the garden sorted (had lots of plans for yesterday but ended up working instead) so will spend some time on that today. lots of garden done, garlic, spring greens and sweet peas planted, beds weeded and stuff harvested 😊 still loads to do but there always is! 😂
Exercise to your level and enjoy yourself. Gardening and walking will be my excercise - I need to do more of both!! 😂 Garden excercise done - haven't walked at all!! 🙈
Spending. New annual budget for me so I've been very realistic with it but I have covered everything that I can think of! I really want to eliminate unnecessary spends this year. I've cancelled my prime account which will have a big impact and I'm eating out of the freezer and stores as much as possible 😉 doing really well with groceries - had to buy some stuff for the house (light bulbs, sealer for the boiler etc) but still well within budget 🙌
Stay strong and true to yourself - this one is so needed with the quitting of alcohol and nicotine! I'm going to be posting more often to keep myself accountable!! 😉 We'll this hasn't really happened - still smoking but at least I haven't murdered anyone!! 😂
Good luck everyone!! 🙌
