F0xh0les - don't suppose a no-present-pact can work one-way...? As in 'I'm not getting you anything, so do what you want...'

A bit more mobile today. Spent the morning stretching my legs, twirling my feet and very very gently flexing my back. Tried to do 15 minutes work in every hour, resting for the other 45 minutes. Mummy of twins came as it was a nice day. She brought more rocks (only a few more needed now) and we have managed to clear the yard, polytunnel cover back on (frame is now only half size), held down by the plant pots I set out a couple of weeks ago, cabinets and old dining table inside to provide painting/ drying  surfaces when I can manage it. I've harvested, weeded and planted onions in several more pots. Bin out, milk bottles ready, food delivery accepted and mostly inside. A bit sore and stiff now but well worth it for what has been achieved. Won't feel guilty if I can't do anything for the  next two days but hope to continue making progress. A chair has been moved across from one side of the room to the other and drawer contents audited - think I can manage with the clothes I have for now (have bought a few new things). Two pairs of velour joggers and two good pairs of leggings, lots of t-shirts and  a few extra layers if needed. Also have a disreputable pair of joggers (once black now a multitude of greys) and a pair of paint spattered leggings for painting/ mucky jobs.

Grateful for help (she's broken the yard brush today, the spade last week), would have taken my weeks to do it, food delivery (mum still insisting we don't need any food then wolfed some of the things I bought last week and then asked where the rest were). Bought one or two things to put away in the C cupboard and some small items to freeze (cooked meat, grated cheese - no dearer than the block, w'meal wraps). My room a little tidier but still lots to do.

Glad to hear you are a bit more mobile, mothernerd, and able to do short bursts of stuff.
Today I am grateful for my hands being ok for almost an hour of pruning + digging up weeds and peeling and cutting up a swede and the small carrots that dh insists on buying then never uses himself (!), for the tip being open, for seeing so many neighbours passing by whilst I was out the front, for Wales being sensible and cancelling public examinations next summer (hope you're taking note, BJ...),  for planting up some mini narcissi for cmas presents (and I can therefore put a big tick in my 'cmas prep' box for this week).

Gosh are there any teachers left in schools? Grateful for self isolating this week, my whole department is now self isolating, I don't think anybody is really ill at the moment, so grateful for that as well.

Work are doing free online exercise classes at lunch so did a 30 minute HIIT session - felt good to be moving and have a break from my desk/dining table.
Gratitudes - working for a supportive employer; nice chat with PT colleague; chilled eve with food from stores.

  • Monday was NSD 7/18. Today I did the weekly food shop in my lunchbreak- £50 spent, but I didn't do a "proper"shop last week, and other than a few fresh bits and the inevitable milk and bread top ups it should do for about 10 days. Although as I write this I realise I didn't buy fruit juice so will need to add that to my top up list!
Have built some furniture that has arrived so that means rooms are starting to look a bit more organised.
Still have to sort out change of address notifications to several companies- that's on my to do list for tomorrow.

Yes - I'm still there!!! I think we only have 1 member of staff isolating, and it is the same at dd's school. Very much business as usual for us...

I've been working (just invigilating) in 2 local schools last week - 1 has one member of staff off shielding and 1 on paternity leave (both teaching staff) and the other none off (excluding usual absences) and I'm not aware of any off at DS3's school, either (certainly none of his teachers) but we are quite a low-infection rate area here. All 3 schools have had whole year groups off for positive tests, though. I know some ad-hoc staff at all 3 schools (invigilators and cover supervisors) have been uncomfortable at the prospect of being in school/ being in larger groups if they are in - but it's those with underlying health issues and some of those are also older (into their 80s) and some others have vulnerable spouses - so completely understandable (and a 'perk' (questionable terminology!! :D) of a zero-hours contract is you can say 'no' to the work, unlike most staff in schools.....)

Right so it's just my college thats been swiped out into sea :-) my whole sub department is now out and I think more than half out overall. So. just co taught online with other teacher.  And had time for a quick HIIT in between. Today should be a NSD day. My friend brought us a few bits yesterday, but forgot milk! I think we'll be ok through tomorrow though. Grateful for all students 'showing up' not complaining and looking forwards to them bringing bak interesting pictures later.
