I know sweet potato and parsnip are not lower carb, but as I am low carb, try to not exceed 50g a day, I have sometimes, in moderation only.
I have tried Diet Dr a few times, the free month, they have some nice recipes which I save and then leave, find it a little too American.

I am having roast chicken legs and roast veggies today, cauli, swede, broccoli and carrots.
Do I need it or just want it.

Yesterday I made a squid stew, froze half, it was tasty enough but not the best, added all ingredients to my carb manager and it came out, 38g carbs 64g protein 31g fat 684 cals. had a couple of poached eggs later.
Today I have some ricotta cheese to use so will give it some thought and come back.
Decided on sausage with cauli mash and buttered cabbage

Squid stew sounds interesting to say the least lol

had way too many carbs over xmas so detoxing this week and have had the awful carb withdrawal headaches but only have myself to blame.   luckily loads of (free, see below)  salady bits and some meat from Xmas, i had frozen half the turkey and ham so got it back out

do any of you have Olio in your area?   i have become a food waste hero you are allowed to keep 10% of what you collect and can request from others.   there has been loads of salad/veg,  unfortunately also loads of bread but that usually goes when I list it on the app.

Starting over starting over, the squid stew I was aiming for a delicious octopus type thing, missed it sadly, I like Tom Kerridge but never seem to have any luck with his recipes.
I was tempted by a few Christmas left overs, chocs and shortbread, and cheese, so much cheese, mostly blue, no hardship as I like it really rank, any unopened packets I can leave there.
Going to make a meal plan tomorrow. Have a birthday lunch on Thursday, roast chicken apparently, will message the lunch giver and ask for extra veg and no potatoes, I seem to recall she is a plater up when serving.    :D Take some of my cheese as a cheese board.

Anyone got some budget low carb ideas for a fussy eater (me!)
prices seem to be going up and we are eating the best quality food we can buy as we are only eating real food and lower carb too.

we get a weekly organic veg box (swap out the potatoes each week) and have a butcher nearby but just seem to be spending so much on food and I don’t want to go down the cheap pasta carb heavy routes.

Newlywed .  check out Olio i mentioned above often lots of salad on there,   crustless quiche is easy, filling and cheap but mince is your best friend when trying to eat frugally as well as low carb

I could go on but heres a few:-
lasagna (butternut squash instead of lasagna).   shepherds pie (swede/cauli topping), meatballs,  chilli (cauli rice), bolognese (courgetti)
