I forget what it is precisely but for every gram of fat there's also a certain number of grams of water. A big factor in weight loss is insulin. Besides pushing glucose from the blood into cells, it also controls fat loss. If your insulin level is lower you will lose weight. In days of yore, before we could make insulin, people with type one diabetes didn't last long as they couldn't hold onto their fat in the complete absence of insulin.
We hunted around the interweb for Best Coffee Grinder and bought one, so that husband could make Dr Sarah Myhill's linseed bread rolls (scroll up for link). I just can't tell you how much it means, to be able to have a roll and butter. No gluten, no yeast, no dodgy flours, just organic linseed (flaxseed), water and salt. Totally clean and delicious.
Finding it difficult to get organic produce in supermarkets. It's not worth me doing £40 order twice a week now and getting virtually zero fresh produce. so I'm switching to farms. Prices can be higher but at least I get the produce. It does save me money too as I'm not having to make up an order with a tonne of extra stuff, to get two cauliflowers !

Mrs Stepford I am going to have to try those rolls, what linseed do you use? My husband is the baker in this house and he is arguing that the ground linseed will do just as well freshly ground. Is there a difference?
Tonight was pork chop with creamy mustard sauce, roasted home grown courgette and some leftover halloumi.2 -
freshly ground has more of the nutrients left in than the already ground stuff. i would assume it would work just as well but maybe not be as good for you. i too shall have to give them a go
i remember reading long ago fat cells never actually go away hence its easier to put the weight back on as they fill back up again whereas if they had never been there they wouldnt. all very depressing and hopefully not true

Back from the kestival, had a fabulous time, lots of interesting demos, tasters and talks, Dr David Unwin and his wife Jenny Phillips, gave a really riveting talk on cause and effect of carbs, lots of insight and thought provoking,
Met loads of like minded people and interesting chats, the weather was awful but forward planning by Mark Brereton and the venue we were in a marquee.
The food was gorgeous, all keto, obviously, med rare tender steaks, sides of poached salmon which was so soft, the coronation chicken was the star, never wanted to try it before, now on my recipe list, lots of other delicious food, I ate far too much, but it was all so good.Do I need it or just want it.2 -

Abel & Cole organic golden linseed 250g 1.95 78p per 100g
Linwoods organic flaxseed 1kg 9.49 Costco 95p per 100g
Amazon Happy Belly organic linseed 350g 2.88
Obviously if you grind it yourself , it's hopefully fresher. But I found a farm which grinds their own The Linseed Farm and once we've used up the stuff we have, I want to try it.
I don't know how fast linseed goes off and I don't know if it's sprayed or not.

Sounds like a perfect weekend Pamsdish!
Thank you MrsStepford I ended up buying Linwoods ground linseeds and made the rolls. Not very impressed, but that may be down to me. I made them slightly bigger even though l did a knock test like you do with bread, they didn't cook properly in the middle so texture not great and distinctly fishy tasting which I think is all the good for you omegas but off putting in a roll.
I found another recipe that adds eggs and some raising agents so may play about as I want to like this bread option.

I was using up some ground flaxseed in my last 2 batches of rolls, distinctly disappointing, put the first disappointment down to an error I must have made, second confirmed it was the flaxseed, made fresh yesterday, using whole linseeds which I mill myself, they are huge.Do I need it or just want it.0

I always grind my own and altho have had some time they have never gone off, perhaps ground goes off faster?

The fishy smell is the Omega 3, yes. Sometimes you will find it in eggs, too. We haven't noticed it ourselves but as we live by the sea and et fish quite a bit, maybe we wouldn't ?
I bought a Seedful loaf to try as supposedly 11g carbs per slice. OMG it's terrible. Lots of wholeseeds. moist in the middle, dry and hard on the outside and smells like birdseed. Won't be buying that again.0
