Spent this afternoon baking. I've made 1 large mixed loaf (didn't have enough wholemeal flour so topped it up with plain), 8 large wholemeal buns, a chocolate cake, and I tried to make flapjacks but yet again they went wrong  I've tried putting the flapjacks on greased foil on a tray, today I tried greaseproof paper as I was trying to keep the washing up to the minimum. I'm going to have to try it straight into the greased tray next time.

Just about to sit down and watch "The Phantom of the Opera" on DVD as OH won it this week on ebay. Never seen it before so I'm off :D

OOoooh nicki! Can I come and watch? What a lucky "win" :T

I'm having a really C-rap day! I've spent best part of it cleaning and decluttering bedrooms - productive, certainly; but by golly am I missing my boys. I think I've spent more time wiping tears than I have wiping surfaces. But, hey-ho, activity is a positive way of getting rid of any "negative" energy so I suppose it's helping!

Haven't eaten yet .. just doesn't feel the same if you've only got yourself to feed does it.

Tomorrow, I plan to be much more positive LOL

Queenie you gotta eat! I know how you must miss them as I'm like that myself when my lot are away, it is so quiet. But make this a time to treat yourself - eat what you want (without worrying that the family don't like it) watch what you want to on tv, have a lovely bubble bath with candles burning (no worries about fanmily knocking on the door to use the loo  )
Believe me the weekend will soon fly by and you really get to find out how much you all appreciate each other.

Today I've managed to make myself cry for half an hour, peeling shalots for pickling. I've also done my shopping on line with tescos, and saved myself £10 with an online voucher for MSE, done my daily visit to greasypalm to earn some cashback via search sites, played outside with my son for an hour, done two loads of washing and put some stuff on ebay to sell. Sounds like everyone has had a busy friday.
    :)

I've not done a lot apart. from catch the bus into town, whic is my 2 year old DD daughters favourite treat, had a picnic in the park and played on the swings for a couple of hours.stopped at the butchers and bought a whole pork belly including ribs, which the butcher cut up for me for future barbeques, and some beef skirt and ox kidney.

Other than that I've cooked tea, Turkey scnitzel(sp?) with green beans broccoli and saute pots, and am now polishing off a lovely bottle of red wine, and desperately tring to get two year old into bed;)
Queenie, my children are with their dad in the week and usually here at the weekend, but as it's fathers day they are staying with him, so i know how you are missing your boys. The silence is deafening isn't it? Just try and use the time for all the things you promise you would do if only you had some time to yourself:D
Have a good weekend everyone, and make the most of the weather:D

If they don't deliver to your area - I know they have a stall in the village hall here in Claydon, so it would be worth asking if they have other "market places" that you might reach. Otherwise, if you have transport, my village hall is easy to find :)

had a good old style day so far.....washing out (3 loads) and all drying nicely on the line as its a mini heatwave today.

even without my oven :( i have made carrot and coriander soup for lunch tomorrow, a cheese and onion loaf, mushrooms stuffed with ham and cheese for lunch today and an apple salad. and a peach flan for pudding tonight after HM chilli (from the freezer) and jacket potato.

i must say that i am not the worlds greatest eater and have really suffered over the last 15 years or so with an eating disorder...but i have thanks to this site begun to ENJOY my food again, this is the first couple of weeks in YEARS that i have eaten more than one meal per day....the kids are loving it too! so many many thanks you guys for all those gorgeous recipes!!!!

after lunch we are planning to go for a nice walk having taken delivery of a double disabled buggy this week which has made SUCH a difference to our lives as it now means we can go out as a family!!!!!

and...it gets better!!.....im spending NO money today :D

Unfortunately I have spent money today - £2 on the biggest punnet of strawbs i have ever seen off my friendly market greengrocers PLUS a huge two pound bag of toms for £1! :j OH has been despatched to his wedding driving job which he has taken on because his business isn't taking off. actually today is his "shadowing day". Next time he's on his own - I have given him a stern talking to about the virtues of puncuality (we don't have the same concept of time...... ). 2nd lot of washing on and everything defrosting for the barbie. actually, OH said "oh we don't have to do much shopping this week do we?" , ahem that's because I did it all during the week on my way home from work by forward planning - why do we bother? so burgers tonight with tom, watercress, orange and the rest of the feta in a sald and I may go mad and open a tin of fruit from the vast trifle collection.... :D The be-ro marmalade cake was lovely by the way and gets the thumbs up from OH :j

Right, i'm off to indulge in a bit of cross stitch before the washing needs taking out. I may even run to a lemonade (careful now!) :D
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
