Make chilli bread (I have a tub of chilli flakes so I'll try just adding those to the basic bread recipe and see how it turns out)

If you decide to do this don't put too many flakes in. I made some rolls using the same method but I put about 10 - 20 flakes per roll and they nearly burn't my mouth off  the only way I could eat them was if they were spread with yoghurt or sour cream :D Looking back, I could probably have used them to top a very mild chilli or something clever? Ah well, too late now.

Have been cutting up cardboard into 1/2" squares this afternoon to put in the compost,so it rots down more quickly.
I managed to weigh a knitting machine cone as I found I'd got a nearly empty one and the cone slid out when I pulled it, they weigh about 1oz.
So I can now calculate how much wool I bought yesterday and what I can use it for :)
Tea will be chicken Pie from my rubber chicken selection with Apple pie or crumble for pud depending on which one DD decides she fancies making (She is not a bad cook for a 15year old).

Well, I did my walk - it took 30 mins each way as I'm so unfit - and there were hardly any shops open. Wednesday afternoon was early closing back in Brum, but I thought it was Thursday early closing oop here. Many of the shops don't open on a Monday or a Tuesday anyway.

But I'm now so tired I'm going to relax and read a magazine.

well I've just given the kitchen a good clean including sorting out the food so we can have another "use it or loose it" meal. Going to use some mashed potatoes I'd frozen and defrosted yesterday, mixed with some carrot, cornedbeef, hamburger relish (only a tiny bit left) and some other bits which I'll decide on when I'm putting it together; then I'm going to bung it in the oven at call it mash surprise :rotfl:

I've put all the stained clothing out on the washing line as the weather was awful before but now it's brightening up :doh:so I might put the freshly washed bedding out instead of putting it in the bedrooms with the heaters on :j

Just sorting out my money off coupons and then I'll make tea

    afternoon all :)

Not all THAT MSE thus far today as I was out buying new shoes for the wedding I'm going to on saturday. I've decided to wear a pair of heeled spangly sandals I got last year until my feet fall off, then I'll change into my new little spangly slippers :D . They were only £10 so I don't feel too bad about them...

Also got Father's day pressie from the body shop - using the full refund I got from the mother's day pressie my brother & I bought this year (long story...but Mum ended up with lovely flowers a day late and a large box of choccies..) and as I spent over £25 (£25.09!) I got a free gift of a wash bag and some wee bits and pieces. I'll be splitting that up and sticking it in my gift drawer then :D .

Stuck at work noon until 8 (which is my least favourite shift..) and then home to make something freezable out of the organic pork and leek sausages that are languishing in my fridge. I'm thinking something with the sprouty onions and 2 reduced tins of flagelot beans...
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...

I've been working, so haven't had much time to be old style, but just had the most gorgeous tacos with leftover frozen chilli. Yum! Will be following it with frozen peach juice lollies (peach juice leftover from tinned peaches from the easy peach sorbet thread. The frozen peach juice is lovely - a little bit on the slush side of frozen, but frozen enough to hold together as a lolly. Not tried the peach sorbet yet though - despite the fact we planned it for Sunday. Never mind, a nice easy dessert for when I remember about it!

Hmmmpffff - my MSE tea went a bit wrong - and now I have a lovely stainless steel saucepan sitting in the garden complete with 1/2 inch of carbon glued to its interior. My HM saus casserole was going great guns, along with some boiled Jersey Royals, steamed veg and at the last minute I decided to use up the 1/2 red cabbage and 1/2 red onion in my fridge. Added a lovely apple, some raising, sugar and red wine vinegar and was sauteeing nicely until DS2 decided that he needed my undivided attention and NOW. Well, I thought there was enough liquid in, it was turned really low..... and then I smelt that lovely aroma of cabbage a la black smoke wafting through the house! Blimey - I've now got 6 scented candles burnign around the house and it still wiffs. Also have pots of white vinegar strategically placed - that's meant to help.

God - I hate the thoguht of that waste food. And now I'm going to have to use a D/W tab or some biological washing powder to try to rescue my pan. GRRRRRR. I think I'll open one of my bottles of rose (Lidl special) anyone want some?

Bung a slice of lemon, or splash some lemom juice from a bottle in a pan with some water and simmer it for a while. It's a great air freshener.

Do NOT forget to keep an eye on it :D
