Can my ex demand this?

Hi all,
New here, just wanted some advice about a dilemma I'm in. Basically my soon to be ex husband and I are separated and are going through court to sort our finances out. I currently live in the house with our 2 young children. We are required to get our house valued and I have had 4 estate agents over to give me estimates. My ex would like to get his own estate agent over to get it valued but he wants me out of the house when he arranges one. I rarely go out as my children are young and I have no transport, we live in a very rural area and there is nothing close by. Is he entitled to demand that leave in order for him to come and show an estate agent around? He has not been in the house for a year and to be honest I do not want him in here without me being present as I do not trust him not to snoop around my things.
Can anyone give me some advice as to where I stand on this please?
I do not want to appear awkward if this is brought up with the judge.
Both of our names are on the deeds and we both contribute to the mortgage.
Many thanks

Could you maybe tie it in with the time you'd do your shopping? So if you don't go out much its not an additional trip out?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

When my husband and I were going through divorce there would be no way on earth I would leave the house with him in it. I would be worried I'd never get back in, he could change the locks. Ask your solicitor for his advice but a valuation can be done with you there.11

Thank you, at last someone who understands my worries. I'm perfectly happy to be here for another estate agent valuation but there is no need for my ex to even come in. The reason he wants me out is because he 'cant stand to look at me' Very childish and petty man!
I never even thought about the whole changing the locks thing, that is exactly the sort of thing he would do so thanks for the heads up x0 -
I wonder if a solution would be for the ex not to come, but to be on the phone to the agent?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

That would be the perfect solution!

It sounds as if he has some sort of ulterior motive.
Just tell him no and stick to itmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.5 -
I agree too, being out of the house whilst they're both there isn't necessary - does your ex think something will be done or said to the agent that the agent can't be trusted there without him ?
No, don't do it.
Get another person there with you so there'll be 4 of you there, have someone in 'your corner' - it would be sensible.

I don't think an EA really needs a homeowner to show them around the house, unless it is a bespoke build with special features.

No they don't. In the past few weeks I've had 4 here and each time I've waited in the kitchen as they've wanted to walk around the house themselves. It's taken less than 5 mins. Thank you all for your support0
