Hello everyone
Thanks to all for the very warm welcome. 😘
Need to meal plan but current spend on food bits to date is £10.35, why, oh why did I buy the tub of celebrations.
Found an old Iceland voucher so used that up today. I should not need to spend anything for a few days but I'm currently in a crazy phase where I can't decide whether to build up or run down my pantry stocks.
Ate up a beef pie with roasties today and the few odd carrots went to the dogs.
I randomly have some flaming hot (?) xlarge wotsits in the cupboard not sure what possessed me at that point of sale 😂 really must try harder.
Nothing else to report, off to meal plan but hopeful only spends will be milk for the rest of the week.
Other half informed me he only does h3inz after I'd brought a bargain bottle of tomato sauce so a bit miffed about that, guess he won't be having any of my sauce (it's daddies) if he's such a snob! maybe I'm being harsh but sauce is sauce isn't it?
Hope all are well and safe xx

Hi everyone!
It’s been a long time but I’d like to get my spending back on track and a good place to start has always been right here!I’ve been trying to do a bit more making/cooking/baking from scratch again, lots more eating out of the freezer, and very much less drinking fizzy pop!If I’m ok to join in this month, I’d love to set a budget of £200 for the month (sorry, can’t seem to change text colours any more - first time I’ve really used the new style forum - as I say, it’s been a while!)Looking forward to getting my teeth back into some money saving and getting back on the boards!Vicky xGrocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . First spend for the month came this morning on milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, radishes and carrots plus a bottle of Chilean Merlot to make bbc good food's blackberry liqueur with. The whole lot came in at £12 dead so that's £12/£200 and should take me to Friday before I need any more provisions.
Off to bed now, night all and sweet dreams, goldfinches.7 -

Popped to Aldi with my neighbour, I needed gin, separate budget, £15.86 on mostly store cupboard items, really need to concentrate on reducing freezer stocks before trying to squeeze in those Christmas goodies only seasonally available.
Going again Thursday with another neighbour.Do I need it or just want it.4 -
Budgets updated to here
@PipneyJane well done on your amazing surplus! I've updated your budget
@sarahj1986 welcome back!
@zafiro1984 no problem - I tend to leave names on for a few months or if they are regulars, even if they don't declare for a bit - it just makes it a bit quicker and easier for me doing the budgets!

Had a good freezer dive, nearly fell in with shock when I actually saw the bottom of the freezer lol!
It has now been defrosted and I have started batch cooking meals for after my op.
Haven't been shopping yet apart from milk, bread, a chicken (To make chicken stew and sesame chicken) and 3 x 10 large eggs which came to £8.03
We are living out of the freezer, garden and cupboards as much as we can
It will be quite a big meat shop this week so I can carry on with meal prep, the up side is that October will be a really cheap month
So far I have made:
1 cottage pie
1 shepherds pie
1 Spag Bol
1 Lasagne
I chicken and veg pie with gravy
1 chicken and ham pie with with mushroom sauce
2 Beef Casseroles plus I found one already made in the freezer)
1 Mediterranean pork stew
1 Chicken stew
1 Sesame and ginger chicken
I also found 2 packs of sliced beef in gravy and one sliced lamb in gravy, I usually seem to have meat left over from a joint so I just pop it in the freezer well covered in gravy, so that is three Sunday dinners DH can easily reheat.
15 meals so far, just another 30 to go..................
DH was paid on the 27th and meals have consisted of cereal for breakfast (I don't eat breakfast just DH and DS)
Lunch has been egg and cress sarnies, tuna and cucumber sarnies and DH is very fond of fried egg sarnies
Dinners so far have been:
Thursday......Crustless quiche with peppers and mushrooms with salad from the garden
Friday..........Tuna fish cakes and home made wedges with salad from the garden
Saturday........Was busy putting new seeds in the garden so it was bacon, eggs, sausages and beans
Sunday.........Roast beef, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts and carrots from the freezer plus Yorkshire puds. It was quite a small joint so there was not enough to freeze so DH had beef sarnies on Monday.
Monday............ We went to a friend's house for a BBQ so no spend we just took a bottle of wine from the drinks cupboard.
Tonight will be Pork chops, corn on the cob and HM wedges, I am having chicken breast and salad. I am not a lover of pork.
Will post the rest of the week's menu tomorrow.
Phew......................
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
