goldfinches said:May I join in please? I've just been going over my figures for the last few weeks and my spending seems to have run away with me rather so I'd like to join in for the accountability which will hopefully keep me on track. My month will run from 31st Aug to 5th Sept and I'd like to start with £200 . There's just me so that should easily cover all food and household necessities such as cleaning supplies but not toiletries as I have a separate budget for those.
I have a well stocked pantry, fridge and freezer so am aiming to eat down some stored supplies and see what I can make with the ingredients I have already opened rather than adding to the jars and bottles sitting in the fridge.
My besetting sins are unusual ingredients and y/s bargains which I find it very hard to walk past if I think they'll come in handy some day! I also have a very long list of recipes I want to try out at least once from here and elsewhere so must stop adding to that and start eating my way through those.
Looking forward to reaching October with a nice low total for all of us, onwards and upwards to everyone, goldfinches.

Hello
,
Can I join again with a budget of £160 for September please. This is just for food. Didn't do so well for August - it's going to be a fresh start."A thousand candles can be lit from a single candle without shortening the life of that candle."

Put me down for £600 please.
After a couple of successful months I feel much more in control of my budget. Aiming for £500 as my std by 2021, but taking it slowly to get there.
£159.65 spent to date. Lidl was a big shop as had been nearly 3 weeks since I'd actually been 😱 freezer is fairly full and stocked up on the basicsJune Grocery Challenge £0/£250

Afternoon all, could you pop me down for £400, ideally I'd like to be at £350 as the kids are having lunches at school (free school meals) so it's only hubby and I for lunch, Plenty of store cupboards bits to use up. I have a delivery saver with Mr T so will do the weekly shop for the bulky items there and then do the top up at Ald! as there are bits we enjoy from there which are cheaper.Grocery Challenge 2024

First shop of the month at £19.44 today - which brings me well over the £500 I originally planned.
So please update my annual budget be updated to £880.
This week's plan is to make some veggie burgers today, plus pizza later in the week and halloumi flatbreads. Also trying out making some oat milk so fingers crossed that goes wellGrocery Challenge

Hi everyone! My month is running from pay day to pay day so that’s 25th August to 24th September. My first purchase was £12.26 from Lidl. I went in for bread and cheese, and as always ended up with a basket full. (Though I only buy what I will use, I tend to buy meat when reduced and pop it in the freezer or buy fruit or vegetables I wouldn’t normally buy at full price). I always buy meat when reduced as I eat so much with having a high protein diet and training at the gym. But my most favourite purchase was raspberries and strawberries for 20p a punnet!! Couldn’t resist so got 2 of each, beautiful berries which I refuse to buy at their usual price. I’ve had the most wonderful snacks the past couple of days. 🍓🍓🍓Officially a homeowner 🥳🥳

Hi, I would like to join the challenge from the 1st of September. I live alone and am guessing a target figure of £150 a month! Not too sure how this works, but I have quite a few meals in my freezer, and my cupboards are well stocked. I batch cook using my slow cooker, this looks a very interesting forum I think I will enjoy my visits here.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
