It’s hard to accept you can’t do as much as you want to or used to do but you will adapt & still enjoy life. Friends and family will understand if you explain and not be upset if you have to end the night early or take time out to rest.Good luck for your interview today!!0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Thanks everyone
Haven’t updated much lately as I’ve been feeling really run down and overwhelmed lately with placement and wedding planning (3 weeks to go!) but as it’s pretty much a year since I started this diary I thought I’d do a little update of how we’re getting on with our financial goals.Emergency fund: Was 600/1000, now 1000/1000 (was more but been dipped into a few times)
Wedding fund: Was 2800/5000, now we’ve fully paid for everything! Ended up costing £6000 so we went over budget but we’ve made it work
House deposit fund: Was 1800/14000, now 7344/14000! Halfway there!
Total: Was £4410, now £8344! That’s £3944 more. If we also count the additional money we’ve paid for the wedding, we’ve saved £7134 over the past year. If we keep going at this rate, we should have a deposit together by next summer.I’m actually really proud of us2 -
You should be proud!
Planning a wedding on a budget isn't an easy task. Saving a deposit at the same time is a great achievement. On top of that you're balancing study, placement and health.

It has been such a difficult year with illness, studying, placement not to mention covid and look at you now. Well done. Congratulations i wish you a brilliant year in your continuing diary. Weddings are so stressful, I dont know how people can organise all of them. Well done Ms Riot.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Thank you both! This past year has been a LOT and I have to admit I am definitely looking forward to never having to think about wedding stuff again xD Sorting the seating chart was like doing a Rubik’s cube upside down in the dark2

The organisation is a nightmare but it means that you will have a lovely day. Well done you!Aiming for a minimal spend 20221

I haven’t been posting much lately as I’ve been busy with placement and wedding planning but I have exciting news! I have a job offer!!! It’s not related to my msc but still sounds really interesting, is a bit more desk based and actually pays a bit more than I would get as a band 5 in the NHS. Got to go through a bunch of security checks before it’s all confirmed but hopefully I’ll be doing 3 days a week2

Congratulations! Having a more desk based role will be better than trying to be on your feet a lot. I'm so pleased for you 🍾Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2

New job sounds great 🤗 well done. I’m sure security check will be fine. Hope you can manage 3 days without being too exhausted, just make sure that they are aware of your condition and can make reasonable adjustments0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
