    Thanks :)

Am doing my best to look after myself, have been going to bed at 7 for the past few nights as I think the stress is wearing me out a bit. Someone rang me about a TA role this morning and I nearly took it, but riotdude gave me a talking-to and reminded me I'm looking for desk work only.

Yeah that's a good point, MF, we don't need to spend too much on mini. I've already got her some Sylvanians second hand as they last well. Unfortunately no chance of sorting out the grant as I'm no longer officially a student. I don't think I'll get what they should have paid me for June-October either, just hoping I can sort out this "debt"!

It would be worth expanding your search a little, admin in medical related places are frequently PT, some fixed term. Looking directly on company sites can be fruitful as they try and keep costs down by not using agencies. Even doing a browser search with key words has some pop up. It is tiring though, so pace yourself.

Shame about the grant but hopefully the debt will get sorted out soon.

That's a good point, MF. The problem is I need somewhere I can start work relatively quickly, which means the whole of the NHS is out as their hiring is generally slow.
  • It was just to give examples, I know public sector are slow to provide start dates. Perhaps register for admin bank with the NHS as another back up.

Ooh yes, that’s a good one to look into.

Have managed to make £12 matched betting and £40 on prolific this week, not too shabby. I’ve also banned riotdude from Sainsburys which is definitely helping our grocery budget!

I have an interview on Friday for a call centre job, 20 hours, so fingers crossed for that! Not to toot my own horn but I think I’m generally quite good at interviews. I’ll ask my Granny to light a special candle for me- never fails! xD

Yesterday we went to soft play (£4) and had greggs for lunch (£8). Today I’m going to make some brownies with mini and then we’re going to my mums for lunch.

    Nice income boost.
Your weekend sounds like so much fun!
Good luck with the interview, fingers and toes are crossed.

OMG riot lady, you are doing so well. The student loan company is so dense they do this all the time. Can you report them to the student union who will give you legal cover and fight it on your behalf? Try offering to work in a GP surgery too but they are v busy at the moment and i dont think it is v well paid.

    Thanks guys! :)

Unfortunately SW apparently the problem arose from a mistake made by the uni (SF's response to it also makes no sense imo but whatever) so I'm waiting for them to fix it and the organisation of the student help department is a shambles. The finance department don't even have a phone number- even the central helpline can't contact them, they can only submit online tickets which currently nobody is replying to.
  • Have you lodged an official complaint or attempting to resolve it without doing one? If the latter, set a hard deadline and start preparing the complaint now, hit send when your deadline comes.

All this beaurocracy, remember the days when you walked into an office and could speak to a person? I feel old. I am so sorry riotlady, what a pickle.
