who else is planning to bin this a/c/card once they have the £100. (have got loads of donors). Doesnt seem to be any way to do it online (Halifax or BofS). Got to be a phone call (duh)
What precisely is it you want to do, and that you can't do online?

Getting rid of an Ultimate Reward after the switch is a good idea, unless the add-ons are of value you to. Getting rid of the normal Reward account is a matter of debate - personally, I wouldn't get rid of any of mine for as long as each of them is worth £60 a year to me.

Just use the Switching Service in a couple of days to switch it into your main bank account. That is what I am doing. Far too many Donor accounts right now that I don't need to keep this one.

applied 4 Aug, received switch bonus already, due to complete tomorrow.  has anyone been able to find the 'reward tracker' that supposedly shows you whether you are meeting the conditions for the rewards yet? is this app only?

It's one of the options on the right hand side, when you are viewing your account in online banking.

I'm using Halifax as the recipient of my excess donor accounts (including 3 BoS accounts). It was very lucky an incentive came along just days after I started this process and I've been paid for doing something I was going to do anyway.
It might interest you to know I cancelled my Halifax credit card through live chat on the app with zero fuss a couple of weeks ago, despite them saying on their website it can only be done by phone or post.

Are you testing their ability to enforce the 1x switching bonus? If so, has it worked and more than £100 come through?

It's on the left in online banking but on the right in the app.

Not deliberately. My first switch started before I knew of the offer and unsurprisingly did not get an incentive. I don't expect to get a second bonus for the switch I will start after my qualifying switch completes tomorrow (Halifax isn't one to make their systems watertight, but surely they'll have thought of that ;) ).
It just happens that Halifax accepts switching instructions online, while other banks I hold a current account I want to keep require a phonecall.
