Possible £100 Halifax switch offer starting 4/8/20

  • My switch completes 18th. Just had login code through post today. I'm sure I did have an offer previously - but subsequently closed it (like this, will be a spare act as I prefer Barclays Premier / Santander Select) so have no intentions of using it other than maybe shove the £1500/m in and spend £500/m to get a free fiver.

So not hopeful I'll qualify but I'll see soon enough I guess!

Does anyone know for sure when Halifax last paid a switching incentive that existing customers could benefit from? I’ve trawled the last 2 years statements on all three of my old-style Halifax Rewards statements and can’t seem to spot any incentive payment, but I’m almost sure there was an offer I took advantage of in that time frame. (Want to be certain I’ll be eligible for this one, especially because I’ll need to upgrade one of my accounts to an Ultimate Reward and pay for it.) Thanks!

We received £125 switching incentives from Halifax in March 2018 so just qualify for this new offer. That offer required an application between 6th February 2018 and 19th March 2018.
@clivep - nice one, that's the one I did above. Hopefully might qualify - will know soon enough

Can anyone with experience of the Reward current account please confirm my reading of the replies on this forum and of the Halifax website?

If I switch my existing donor account (two DDs to charities each month, not needed for this one, I know, but will leave in place) and then cycle £1500 pm through the account I will not be charged the monthly fee? Not interested in leaving £5000 in there with no interest, nor a spend of £500 on a debit card. I wish to leave it running with just the DDs coming out and the monthly pay in met, and use it a s a donor account for a future switching bonus when available. Zanderman’s post on page 9 suggests this is OK and I don’t need to register for the Rewards Extras, can keep it without.Has anyone done this?

    Thanks.

  • £100 incentive has been received in the account. Switch due on Thursday.
    Snap.

Please can someone remind me where the Rewards Extra Tracker is located in Online Banking?  I can find it OK in the mobile app, but not in online banking via a web page.

Edit, found those answer in that massive thread about the new Halifax Rewards account, thanks to  Colsten for the screen shot.

That will be fine to avoid the monthly fee (the DDs aren't even required) but the £5k balance or £500 debit card spend will be required in order to get the monthly rewards - if you don't care about that however then you'll be fine to do as you propose.

Have also received the £100. It must've been credited this afternoon sometime as it wasn't there this morning.
  • yeye...even I got it
  • Now the conundrum of when to downgrade the new Ultimate Reward account I opened for this switch incentive...  I did the £1500 pay in and £500 debit card spend (showing in reward tracker as completed) just in case that paid out the fiver next month even after downgrading the account.

I don’t yet have £100 and my switch date is Thursday. I opened an ultimate reward as already have 2 reward accounts. Maybe they’re doing them manually and will get round to it later.
