Ah crikey! Good to know you had some success going direct to them though! Fingers crossed for us all I guess haha 😂
I must admit I'll be annoyed if I have a similar delay over a daft document because the broker hasn't asked anything from me since the beginning of august and I would have everything to hand at a drop of a hat if needs be!

Well let's hope it's all worth it in the end 🤞😂
Check with them directly. I phoned them last week and they said they'd been waiting for a document since the 27th August that they hadn't told my broker they even wanted.
    Nationwide mortgage application (FTB)
Offer accepted on flat - 7/8
    DIP - 10/8
    Full application - 10/8
    Valuation Booked - 11/8
    Valuation received/approved -17/8
    Hard search (Equifax) - 20/8
    Offer received - 28/9

  • We applied for our mortgage back on 12th August and our valuation is today. I don't get how some people are having valuations done first. No idea how much longer we will be waiting but now on working day 23
  • If you submit a document does that mean you are going to the back of the queue and waiting out the 11 working days in addition to the 19?

    Certainly seems that way :-S

    Application started 15/7
    Soft Searches from Nationwide 29/7
Text from Nationwide confirming application received 31/7
    Valuation booking text received 7/8
    Hard Searches on 10/8
Application (and all docs) submitted via MB 12/8
Valuation (and homebuyers survey) took place on 24/8
    Valuation report received 24/8
Confirmation of 10 day turnaround on valuation from MB 28/8
More Payslips requested along with descriptions for partners payslips 7/9
Current dated proof of savings requested & submitted 18/9
Clarity requested regarding historic Director Role in Employee Owned "trustee" company 01/10
    Mortgage offer issued 12/10

What's worse is that they don't check everything. If they find something missing they'll stop right there and ask you for it. 2 weeks down the line they may want documents about another part and you realise you're in a new month and they may ask you for the latest month's payslip or bank statement. It's like being stuck in a comedy show (twilight zone / government agency).

Someone at some point thought to themselves, what's the slowest process we can choose? Let's make a big backlog where we throw everyone's case in and everyone just grab the front item. It's a process designed to handle chaos (limited numbers of people dealing with too many cases and no communication lines).
  • We applied for our mortgage on the 13/08. No valuation as of yet, phoned them yesterday and they said it’s with the underwriters still and they won’t book the valuation in case we get rejected.
So I’m expecting a rejection in a few days to be honest

I have some bad news for all those who applied for a Nationwide mortgage. I've spoken to my mortgage advisor yesterday and he said that it currently takes them about 20 working days ( it's nearly a month if you add weekends) to assess any documents you submit so if you were asked for some additional documents recently, you are in for a long wait. Good luck

I feel like that can’t be true. 20 wd is one month. That’d mean at minimum a mortgage offer can take 2 months (40wd) and for some significantly longer (valuations).

    Valuation booking text received 4/8
    Hard search on 6/8

  • The service times have creeped upto 29 working days from application to offer 🙈 which I think we all know from this thread is alot longer.
