Hey jumping in on this! I got my text saying nationwide received the app 5th august. I did already have an AiP with them but for 1000 less than my mortage offer (wasnt informed of this by broker!).
I have heard basically nothing since! Everytime I email the broker he says they are waiting for the valuation to be booked. Surely this should have been done my now?! Also say the valuation was sorted this week, does anyone know how much longer it could be after that?
I'm a FTB on my own and have no idea what I'm doing hahaha
Definatley contact them or ask your broker to contact them. We submitted app 28/08 and our valuation was booked and completed by 09/09 (under asking price grrr) but it looks like valuations are completed pretty quickly with NW its everything else that takes time

    FTB- 90% LTV
    Nationwide Application

    Full Application - 28/08

Ah god okay thanks. I feel like everytime I contact him he just fobs me off and says they're really busy etc. And that's why it's taking ages. He said something about it going to an underwriter and apparently they all are. And nationwide are saying not to contact them unless it's been 26 days! But I am worried the valuation may end up being for under what I've offered and then I'm gonna have to go though negotiations with the seller again etc.
The seller is really keen for things to be quick too and I feel bad like it's my fault but theres nothing I can do!

I feel exactly the same! Their valuation timescales at the moment are 11 days from day after receipt of application... so its worth checking! It does say subject to access and application being submitted correctly for those 11 days but its worth checking

Great thank you. I almost regret having the broker now because I feel like I cant keep track myself what's going on. Did you just find out about the 11 days thing yourself?
I speak to the seller a lot and I know access to the house would not be an issue unless its purplebricks being the nightmare.

Has everyone had valuations done and approved? Or still waiting for that too? 🙈
Mine is done, it was done really early on in the process.
I think I've read too many of these threads 😂
Mine has been done and approved so I was hoping I was going to get the text were all waiting for your offer as been issued but looks like I maybe in for a long wait 😩 thankyou xx
Mine was done and approved fairly quickly, then I heard nothing... Nationwide were actually waiting for our most recent payslip, but no one knew they wanted it, so an unnecessary delay! Contact them if you’re worrying, at least it will put a stop to any delays on wanting more paperwork! 😂

    Nationwide application- FTB, 85% LTV

    Application Received 27/7
    Valuation booking text received 4/8
    Hard search on 6/8
    Valuation took place on 19/8
    Valuation report received 26/8
    Valuation approved 26/8
    Request for more documents 3/9
    Requested more documents 16/9
    Mortgage offer issued 16/9

Your broker sounds just like mine! No rush at all 😂 there’s me frantically panicking and gathering all my documents together to get in quickly 😂 I’ve actually taken everything into my own hands and contact nationwide directly. Which made me feel like a right idiot, because I literally had no idea what I was doing and couldn’t answer any of their questions, but I managed to speak to one advisor from nationwide who was amazing!
I’m now on 35 working days, soon to be 36 I guess now! from my application day.
When I last spoke to nationwide, they wanted my most recent payslip because it had gone into another new month and the lady I spoke to said it could be another 12 days for them to process it!!!

We will all be moaning soon how hard it is to pay off a mortgage and will all regret wanting one so much 😂 Just keep looking at the funny side on this, otherwise you’ll cry!

  • Ah crikey! Good to know you had some success going direct to them though! Fingers crossed for us all I guess haha 😂
I must admit I'll be annoyed if I have a similar delay over a daft document because the broker hasn't asked anything from me since the beginning of august and I would have everything to hand at a drop of a hat if needs be!

Well let's hope it's all worth it in the end 🤞😂
