Hi, Nationwide here. We've received your mortgage application. If you're an existing customer switching to a new deal, your switch has been accepted.

Yes - Still waiting on an mortgage offer :#

My timeline so far (1st time buyer so nothing to sell):

Initial contact with mortgage broker (found via unbiased) - 21st May
Offer accepted on property -  18th June
Nationwide product recommended by broker - 22nd June
Application received text from Nationwide - 24th June
Valuation booked (text received) - 3rd July
More details on income requested (to support an upcoming salary increase) - 8th July
Income reference letter submitted to broker - 10th July
Valuation (+ homebuyers survey) took place - 10th July
Survey report received by me (valuation = offer price) - 14th July
    Offer  - ???

On the intermediaries' site, it suggests the average time from application to offer at the moment is 20 working days (so four weeks) - fingers crossed for news any day now! Good luck to the above posters too

My daughter had her valuation last Thursday and received offer yesterday.  They offered on house about the 05 July, full application in on 10th.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

How long does Nationwide take to do a valuation after application has been approved? We accepted an offer 4 weeks back but have not had a valuation from the buyers who are using Nationwide.

Nationwide doesn't do the valuation. It instructs its panel manager Countrywide Surveyors who in turn instruct one of its individual surveyors, or another firm if it doesn't have capacity/coverage in a particular area. The surveyor will contact the access provided (EA, vendor, builder?) to arrange the inspection and following the visit, a report is returned to Nationwide and assessed.
