Where we are at with ours (Nationwide)
    Dip - 2nd July - accept
    Full application- 8th July
Requested payslips and ID - 9th July
Valuation booked on 13th July for the 20th
Hard credit check - 19th July
    Valuation-  20th July
Requested further documents (letter confirming I am back from furlough leave) 22nd July .

Been told it will be end of next week  before I hear anything as they are running behind with everything. The waiting is stressful isn't it haha x
Was the letter from your employer (re Furlough) because you hadn't yet completed a month back and therefore didn't have a normal payslip, just furlough payslips?
Yes, I could do with updating really as they then came back to us on Friday saying they needed July payslip confirming I was back (despite letter from employer) my payslip wasn't due out until the 30th but luckily my employer understood the stress and issued mine early which I've sent across today. I am still a week short of normal salary (went back on 7th) so I'm bloody hoping they don't tell me I need to wait until Augusts payslip, I was only missing 20% of 1 weeks wage which equates to £80.
They seem to be being very pedantic given they have my furlough payslip, my last payslip before furlough, a signed letter from my employer confirming I am back fulltime on usual salary and now also the July payslip.
    Stressful doesn't cover it.
My valuation still isn't back yet.
I called to chase and they are now saying they are so behind it may be another 5 working days until report received and then another 5 to assess it. I could cry. Infact I did. X

Help! I'm so frustrated. Current timeline below:
    14/07 - mortgage application submitted
17/07 - mortgage application received by nationwide
17/07 - valuation instructed and provided same day (home buyers report - scotland)
24/07 - update from nationwide to say full application passed to underwriters
27/07 - further documentation request from underwriters - provided same day

One of the documents the underwriters needed was proof my credit card balance was paid off which it is but the statement will not bill until august 10th so I have showed them a screenshot of credit card balance on app being £0, my previous statement from month before and the transaction from current account which shows me paying off the statement amount. Is this enough?

Has anyone else had a similar experience from Nationwide and how long it took after further documents to be reviewed? I'm equally frustrated as I had to call nationwide for the update this morning as the MA is useless in my opinion and is not doing everything he can (I got update this morning, called him to see if he had heard anything and he said no yet they emailed him just after 9am)...

    06/07 - valuation booked
    07/07 - requested more docs
10/07 - valuation done and report received
    17/07 - undervalued by 10k
              - renegotiated with sellers
              - edited details to match price decrease
              - Underwriter requests info
    20th, 21st + 24/07 chased for updates

24/07 - mortgage offer via texts and emails

Seriously lost the will and was convinced it wasn’t going to be approved but it worked out in the end. Good luck everyone waiting.
I am definitely stressed about the house being under valued or something. Really hope that won't be case. Just for a smooth process really..will let you all know. Congratulations on your mortgage offer! You must be so relieved.
New here and so just remembered to check for replies haha. I was so worried too but if it happens and big if you can cross that bridge with the sellers - things will work out the way they should. I so understand the anxiety and overthinking! I’ve my fingers crossed for everyone.

  • Hello all,
We are second time buyers purchasing a new build property with 15% deposit. We have another property which is currently rented out and don't intend to sell. I and my husband are both existing Nationwide customers with decent credit scores. Here is our timeline so far
    • 6th July 2020 - DIP received
    • 7th July 2020 - Mortgage application submitted (Got a text and email from Nationwide about receiving the application)
    • 8th July 2020 - Valuation booked for 20th July 2020
    • 16th July 2020 - Another update with valuation being resheduled for 27th July 2020
    • 17th July 2020 - We can see the hard search performed on us
Waiting game.. What puzzles me is they have not asked for any documents so far which makes me believe it has not been with an underwriter. We applied through a mortgage advisor.
In the DIP, it stated that we passed the affordability with maximum affordable amount about £30,000 more than we are borrowing.
What do you think should I expect to happen going forward after 27th? I am majorly worried about valuation and affordability check (still as I heard Nationwide is being really picky) Thanks guys!
    Good Luck all!!

Hey guys. so here our updated timeline

What puzzles me is this happened, with them NOT ASKING for a SINLE document. I created a seperate post for it as I am delighted as well baffled at the same time!

Losing the will to live with NW. Applied 13/7. Valuation booked for 18/8 which was queried so they then altered to 7/9 and now saying 6/8. Don’t know if they’re coming or going. MB said she’s checked today and they’ve not even looked at documents yet. Literally 2 weeks for nothing to be done apart from them book a valuation in for way too far away.
    NW timescales:
    DIP: 13/7
    App: 16/7
    Valuation: 6/8
    NW offer: 20/8
