    Evening everyone

Had a rollercoaster of a few days.
Spent 40mins trying to get through to Nationwide on Monday ended up hanging up before they answered to go back to work.

Then Monday afternoon got an email from broker Nationwide have fully approved my mortgage and have also asked if I want the higher amount (brooker says this has never happened before) verified to go for higher amount. Official documents now being processed expected in 2-3days.

Still no credit check done by Nationwide and also no confirmation text or email.

Been told by Brooker that Nationwide sometimes aren't the best at keeping clients directly informed unless they ring.

Have instructed for survey to be done and have also asked for a damp and wood survey but these are now on 2 week backlog because of Christmas...further delays :(

    Congratulations!

Good to know they haven't done a credit check as mine hasn't been done yet so feel like I'm getting no where! Broker thinks we should hear news in the next few days, I won't hold my breath 👍

    Hi
I rang Nationwide myself today just to get them to state that's its definitely been approved..as I've no proof of that yet.

I would reccomended anyone to do this though it did take 55mins to get through

They were super helpful and said because I've opted for the higher amount the underwriter has to process the paperwork. Current wait time is 7 DAYS. I explained that they had made the mistake and because everything else has been verified could they not hurry it. Apparently regardless of what the memo is ( even if just information) it takes 7 days.

However they did verify that it has been approved.

So finally sent off solicitors contract....

On average how long does it take from start to finish???. My Estate  agent said at the start around 14 weeks. There is no way I'm going to be completed in that time  for me that's mid January.

    Hi

I applied for specific amount based on salary + overtime which I got accepted for at decision in principle stage. Then nationwide came back after 2 weeks and said they would have to decline mortgage based on that amount because of my September payslip showed no overtime (I was on holiday for 2 weeks) but nationwide said if I reduced mortgage amount by 2k they would proceed, so I opted for that.

Then on Monday my brooker contacted me to state they approved mortgage and after consideration they would now offer the original higher amount. So I then said yes to that.

It's frustrating because it's held everything up  so about 2 weeks behind.

Congratulations on your approval how many weeks are you into the process.

Good luck ...my journey started on the 18th so in a very similar timeline to you.
  • FTB here, 85% LTV.

My timeline has been very fast luckily

Decision in Principle - Accept - 30th Nov
Mortgage Application Submitted - 30th Nov
A valuation has been instructed - 30th Nov
Valuation appointment date booked for 08:00 01/12/2021 - 1st Dec
Valuation received and under review - 1st Dec
Valuation reviewed and acceptable - 9th Dec
PayslipsPrimaryEmployment received and satisfactory - 9th Dec
Mortgage Offer Generated - 9th Dec

Just waiting for the documentation to come in the post now. Went direct and not through a broker.

Haven't seen any credit checks other than the initial soft search. Maybe it's just delayed.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting.
  • Just been approved for a mortgage after 4 long weeks!

Solicitor was instructed the day our offer was accepted. Local authority and environmental searches have come back. Homebuyers survey done.

What steps are left, any ideas when we will exchange contracts.

I've emailed my Solicitor to ask but she doesn't work Thursdays so just looking for your examples of previous timelines thank you.

We're in the same stage. Next part should be the fixtures and fittings report then no questions then exchange

I've already received this report! She did have some questions that I don't think have come yet. Are environmental and local authority Searched the only ones they do?
