Congratulations on getting to the next step.

Everything seems to take forever....especially over Christmas. Unfortunately I am having to withdraw from the sale of my house...after going through all the ups and downs with Nationwide I got a bad damp survey and estimate expensive repair.

Of course this happens on Christmas eve...so all I can do is email solicitor and Mortgage brooker to receive the news when they open.

Give them a ring and wait on hold until you actually get someone. I was waiting a couple of weeks after my application and heard nothing, so I got on the phone and waited over three quarters of an hour, got through to a very nice chap who said "oh I'm not sure why that's not been sent out", he tapped some buttons and I got the text saying my mortgage offer was on its way the next day

    Hi All,

Just wondered what you peeps think on my ETA with Nationwide? Hoping for approval soon. Long story short. Got a promotion and Natwest's borrowing won't allow more than 75% LTV with just me and my new pay rise. Other Lendors will like Nationwide and Halifax etc. So I bank with Nationwide, and had a previous mortgage that was paid for after the sale of the house. So? This is the current Timeline.

3/1/22 - DIP with Nationwide approved. Was just checking myself
4/1/22 - Application submitted through broker
5/1/22 - Text saying Valuation booked
6/1/22 - Text saying - Valuation received and reviewing.

Surveyor already done with "CountryWide" LEVEL 2 so hoping Nationwide have that too and not book a surveyor again. Was told if we upload anything extra? It will put it in the back of the queue. ..

Now Assuming if approved and no issues? That it will be with the underwriters. But I've heard horror stories for weeks and months.. All my finances are through Nationwide and deposit which was from the house sale. So in theory? I'm hoping for a swift approval. But I know these things are NEVER simple.

Only thing they may kick a fuss is the desktop valuation. Natwest said 300k when my offer was 330K. But that was in early October, and my new purchase price is 320K. Hopefully there happy with that. But well see.

Just wondered really how long I have left? Contracts are signed and I hope that this doesn't delay me by months..

I'm surprised no one has replied at all on this thread. Quick update on timeline.

3/1/22 - DIP with Nationwide approved. Was just checking myself
4/1/22 - Application submitted through broker
5/1/22 - Text saying Valuation booked
6/1/22 - Text saying - Valuation received and reviewing.
10/01/22  - Update - Called Nationwide and they confirmed Valuation was approved

So Nationwide haven't de-valued the house which is amazing! NatWest de-valued the house I was going to buy.. Same house just next door by 30K.. Which makes no sense. Maybe because I got it valued in October last year and the price is differnet now... No idea..

Lady at Nationwide said that there now reviewing the documents, and gave me a date on 17th of Jan. So what may happen like others is it may say on text Valuation approved, then mortgage offer text. Hoping that's the case.

But Nationwide may ask or say they can't accept a). or b). etc. Well see how it goes. But it's looking smooth so far.

Thus timescale looks very similar to ours in many ways, just a little further down the line. Our DIP was about a week or two earlier than our full application, as we held of submitting our full application, but experienced very similar to you:

    Applicated submitted: 17th December
Text received re. Valuation: 20th December
    Valuation date: 21st December
Hard searches showed on credit reports: 22nd December

Received email on 22nd December from Mortgage Broker stating that the valuation has been approved, however we still haven't received confirmation of this from Nationwide

6th January: Received request from mortgage broker for further information (completed gifted deposit form), which was submitted that day.  Dont know if our mortgage broker received this sooner than the 6th, as she was off over Christmas and then ill.

    Now waiting again!

The waiting is killing me, hoping for an offer soon!!

    Hi,
Does anyone know if Nationwide underwrite prior to valuation?
I submitted my application on the 7th January and just had a text to say my valuation is taking place on the 15th. Hard search has already been done.
Am I likely to be waiting long after the valuation?

    thanks in advance
