That’s really interesting, I’m a little surprised being honest.

what stage is your application at has it generated an offer?
No offer yet, below is our timeline & we’re planning to borrow approx £400K.

    20/1 - DIP & Application Submitted - 1 Payslip requested.
    20/1 - Valuation Scheduled for 27/1 (Today)
25/1 - Hard Search (TransUnion, Equifax)
25/1 - Payslip approved, no docs outstanding
    27/1 - Valuation & Survey

We’ve previously had a mortgage with Nationwide (now a property owned outright) and my salary alone covers the mortgage we’re planning to borrow - so that might explain why they’re only interested in my salary etc 🤷‍♂️.
That would make sense in your case to me.

We are first time buyers, 90% LTV, £200k purchase price and don’t bank with nationwide.

On my DIP from Nationwide it states to send the listed documents at time of the full mortgage application. All that is listed is latest payslip for me and my partner.
Does that mean that they don't need bank statements or any other evidence? Just seems a bit unusual that a payslip is all they are asking for and curious to know if the listed documents on the DIP showed as different for anyone else.
I’ve not provided any bank statements for my application, just proof of funds - I queried this as it said the default was to request 3 months worth but apparently it’s selective as to whether they request it or not.
  • Hi all! Currently awaiting offer, FTB, price £245k, £115k deposit.

    Timeline so far here:
    • Offer accepted: 18/1
    • Initial conversation with broker (L&C) 19/1
    • Finalised choice of mortgage 20/1
    • Request for 1 payslip and proof of deposit submitted 21/1
    • Confirmed application received by Nationwide 24/1
    • Soft search appeared (CreditKarma) 24/1
The vendor's agent said my lender's surveyor carried out a survey on 26/1 but I've not heard anything about that from Nationwide or L&C - has anybody else experienced same? Seems like most people get a text about it. I have ordered my own survey but they were supposed to be there on 24th.

I have been asked for most recent payslip and gifted deposit letter, I’m Ftb 21% deposit on a new build. Wouldn’t it be brilliant if it was as straightforward as that’s all they ask for !

Quick question when you get your offer does the offer last for 6 months from the date of the offer or from the date that you accept the offer?

Reason I ask buying a new build.

Did your MA offer you options based on which mortgage companies are more likely to offer extensions? This should have been a bread & butter part of the service. If you've gone straight to NW, they should have known it was a newbuild purchase and should have added that info when asked.

I’ve had real issues getting a suitable broker. The good ones are totally swamped right now. Nationwide know it’s a new build and I’m aware of the 15 day grace then 45 day extensions. I just wondered does the offer run exactly from the date it is issued.  I will ask Nationwide at my appt next week.
  • We've applied for a Nationwide Helping Hand mortgage, and are waiting for the offer. It's been maddening, full of delays and now above the average processing time.

House: Terraced, 350k, 10% deposit, West Midlands

    Our timeline so far:

19 December - Application submitted with a Mortgage Advisor
19 December - Valuation booked for the 28th December.
29th December - Confirmation that the valuation report was received. No further comms about this.
4 January - Requested documents from immigration due to Brexit (Both EU nationals with settled status)
12 January - Email saying one of the immigration documents does not work because they inserted the wrong date of birth in the govt website despite having our passports to cross check.
26 January - Requested another balance from my bank because the deposit is in a Monzo pot and they did not like that since it does not show the money coming from the main account.

Currently waiting. Anyone has any advice on this?

    Hello,

I am currently waiting for an offer from Nationwide. I'm a FTB with 5% deposit. Offered £275k on a house.

    18/1/22 - DIP Accept (1 Payslip requested)
19/1/22 - Full Mortgage Application submitted
19/1/22 - Soft search with TransUnion & Equifax
24/1/22 - Hard Search with TransUnion & Equifax
    25/1/22 - Valuation & Survey carried out
28/1/22 - Survey report emailed to me. Valuation was same as offer @ £275k

According to Nationwide Intermediary website, valuation assessment is 4 working days starting day after Nationwide receive their valuation report, which was same day the valuation took place, 25/1/22.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’m also currently waiting for an offer from Nationwide. We are also FTB but ours is a council house Right to Buy. Property value £219,000 discount deposit £84,600 so applying for £134,400.

    Timeline so far:

20/1 - Application referred. Normal for a Right to Buy. Soft search carried out.
    21/1 - DIP Accepted.
25/1 - Full Mortgage application submitted
26/1 - Text confirmation from Nationwide of application.
    26/1 Valuation arranged for 27/1
27/1 Valuation carried out and text from Nationwide later same day confirming they had received the valuation report.

So far no hard searches have shown on our reports.

    Now it’s a waiting game!
