  • Morning - So nice to virtually find people in the same boat.. FTB. Offer was accepted 26/10/21

We had our valuation done on Wednesday 01/12 (Finally after 2 previous cancelled slots!)
Eagerly anticipating the text to confirm offer on the way.

We had already had an offer via HSBC on a house that was £10K less - the sale fell through due to time wasting sellers who just did not actually want to commit to move!
Assumed it was going to be straight forward to have the offer moved to a new property - it wasn't they declined us, due to the updated payslips having more commission - than the previous ones we originally submitted. Baffling!!

Broker suggested Nationwide but after having a rejection from another lender - I am now super anxious.

Good luck all - fingers crossed.
I was declined with accord and nationwide accepted me so ille keep all crossed 4 u
Aww thank you. I think our news will be Monday/Tuesday too.
Do you know why accord did not approve you?

We have had the illustration from Nationwide, a couple of weeks ago. I assumed it was approved subject to valuation because we had that.. But until we have the offer - my stomach is in butterflies.

It was due to something on my credit file which I've resolved now but nationwide still accepted when we were buying our previous house but it fell through

    Nothing from me yet either?

I'm the same constantly checking my phone and emails it's becoming obsessive. 🙃

I have received my solicitors paperwork  but haven't signed or sent it back. Is that wrong? Scared to sign it if for whatever reason the mortgage doesn't go through. 😕

  • We haven't given ours back in yet - but there was some conflicting info in it. So we mailed the solicitor ands they advised they are raising an enquiry on what we said.

Yeah I am the same I have something conflicting on mine too. I emailed the solicitor to let them know. I get the impression the solicitor isn't going to do anything until I send in the contract to say I will agree to pay him.

Anyone know if Nationwide mortgage work Saturday?
  • Just wanted to update our situation - we got our mortgage offer yesterday! But then half an hour later we found out that our vendors have lost their onward purchase so we cannot exchange before Christmas as previously agreed….oh the joys of house-buying. Fingers crossed our vendors still move and don’t pull out.

    Timeline if helpful:
    25 October - Offer accepted
2 November - Mortgage application with Nationwide
12 November - Valuation and survey took place
    15 November - Survey returned
25 November - Request from NW for amended document
    29 November - Document uploaded
    3 December - Mortgage offered
3 December - Found out our chain is no longer complete due to vendors onward purchase falling through

and now we wait some more…
