Just wanted to update our situation - we got our mortgage offer yesterday! But then half an hour later we found out that our vendors have lost their onward purchase so we cannot exchange before Christmas as previously agreed….oh the joys of house-buying. Fingers crossed our vendors still move and don’t pull out.

    Timeline if helpful:
    25 October - Offer accepted
2 November - Mortgage application with Nationwide
12 November - Valuation and survey took place
    15 November - Survey returned
25 November - Request from NW for amended document
    29 November - Document uploaded
    3 December - Mortgage offered
3 December - Found out our chain is no longer complete due to vendors onward purchase falling through

and now we wait some more…
    Thanks for the update

Oh how frustrating for you....you got over one hurdle to have another put in front of you.

Hopefully the vendors find something quick and it'll be a fresh start in January. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm hoping I'll hear on Monday.

Thank you - trying to keep positive that they will find something. Don’t want to go through the whole mortgage and solicitor stuff again!

Hopefully you will hear on monday, everything crossed for you :)

Yes they sent me a text and an email. Then my broker also sent me an email.
They did a hard search on my credit report around the 12 November! Have you had this done yet? I checked on my credit karma app :)

No worries, I’ve been there honestly my anxiety was crazy high. I called nationwide directly a couple of times to ask what was going on and they were the ones who told me I needed to amend a document - my broker said nothing! Might be worth asking them direct for an update? They were helpful to me!

You’ll get there, it’s a good way to practice patience that’s for sure haha :)
  • Good luck for all waiting this week🤞🏼
I am really hoping to hear today.

Those who have had a hard credit search, do you all pay for your credit report?

I have Experian but only the free version - should I be able to see a hard search on there?

    Hi...

I signed up for the 30day free trial on equifax and experian. Although neither of them have a nationwide hard search on them.

I also tried to sign upto credit karma but it blocked me for 30days as I couldn't answer the questions. So I checked my transunion report and still nothing on there.

Hope everyone gets good news today
