Hi everyone, we've recently applied for a Nationwide mortgage. Looking at their own timescale page, they say the average time from application to offer is 12 working days at the moment but we've missed that by a little bit now.

We applied through a broker on 2nd Nov.
Got a text from Nationwide to say they'd received the application on 3rd Nov.
Another text on 11th Nov to say they'd booked valuation for 15th Nov.
Alerted to a hard credit search on the 13th Nov.

We've not heard anything since and I know it's not been that long but we've not had great experiences with mortgage applications and the nerves are starting to creep back again.

How long are people finding Nationwide to be taking lately and I'm always impressed that some people go elsewhere and get an offer within hours. How come everyone can't do that?
    13 actual days for me.

I wouldn't worry because they have done the hard checks and I'm sure if there was an issue you will have been notified by now.

Look forward to your offer on Monday or Tuesday.
Thanks, that's a level of positive thinking we're unaccustomed to 😆
Fingers crossed something comes along next week then.
  • My valuation was done on the 11th and it was down valued hey did hard searches on the 14th Nov and still nothing. I called its back woth under writers as we've come to an agreement with the sellers on price. Does anyone when if we're credit searched has that part gone ok. Getting a bit stressed now
  • Adding my own experience to this, rather than just lurking!

9/11 - DIP approved (took a few tries, as my credit report was still pulling through my paid-off mortgage and a loan that hadn’t updated)

12/11 - Full application submitted. Received a message later that day that said the valuation survey was booked for 15/11.

15/11 - received an email at 7.30am saying that the valuation report had been received.

Of course, instead of being happy everything’s moving along quickly I’m feeling nervous that it’s all going very fast
How long was it until your offer hun has it been recieved yet

Our valuation was on the 15th but we've not heard anything back from them, not even anything to say the valuation report was satisfactory.

By the gods, the second I finished typing that last post the text with the confirmation of the offer came through.
I need Sheffield Soldier to become my personal oracle, I'm not used to something happening when someone says it will.
Good luck Sally Peanut, hope something comes through for you soon.

    That’s amazing! Congratulations!

I’m constantly checking my phone at the minute, valuation was on the 18th and I had a text to say valuation was received but then not heard since. My mortgage broker said on Friday she can see that the valuation was the asking price so I was hoping it would have been a quick check 😩

Its literally all I can think about atm!

I know that feeling it was my broker who told me ours was down valued and it was off to the under writers again as we've agreed a new price that was last Thursday but nothing since I understand the deadline is the 29th so I'm constantly checking my phone too
  • Hi everyone,

we had a mortgage fully accepted by nationwide, my buyers sale fell through and the vendor of the house I was buying remarketed. We are now in a position to either buy the house we originally liked or we have seen another house we also like a lot. This new house is more money so our mortgage would need to be applied for from scratch.

Do you think it is worth the risk of doing this? I am a real worrier.

I think if you've been agreed u should be ok. If the mortgage in principle advises its affordable and u have no debt, bad credit and are in a good job etc I can't see any reason you'd not get it. My mortgage was accepted with santander but wanted a second valuation its lower than what the house was agreed for and we've agreed a new price but still awaiting the decision im worry too but I think you'll be ok good luck
