Nationwide Mortgage

Has anyone used the Nationwide Homebuyer or Buildings survey option? I used it last time and all was well so did the same this time for a full buildings survey, and this is the process they are now using.
Nationwide refer to a partner called Countrywide, who take the money and normally would carry out the survey. Countrywide, then passed us on to an affiliate of them called The Moving Portal, as they have no capacity themselves at this time. The Moving Portal then placed our survey job up online and a local surveyor took the job. Local surveyor has been radio silent for the last 10 days and when I called, the receptionist told me he should contact me directly, which he hasn't done.
I'm sure it'll get done but I fear a lot of nagging phone calls will need to happen beforehand...0 -

We're porting and borrowing more. Had our offer accepted on the 13th, but our mortgage broker hasn't submitted our full application yet despite us sending all documents across on the 15th. We have a call with the broker tomorrow so I assume that they will be submitting the application after that.
Fingers crossed that it goes as smoothly as yours has seemed to!0 -

Existing Nationwide customer here. I was on a tracker which benefited when the BoE rates decreased during Covid. I've decided to stay and fix. The online mortgage switch process is great. You can get a quote, and tinker with the options like:
- Which product you want that is available to you based on what they know of you already
- Choose whether you pay the fee upfront, add to loan or choose no fee
- Adjust the length of time of your mortgage and review how much you will pay each month, the total you pay etc
I guess if I went elsewhere, it would be more complicated, but this was surprisingly easy.
The home valuation seems automated (up valued) which helped the LTV %.
I was offered 0.87% at 3 years fixed, £999 fee or 0.94% at 5 years fixed, £999 fee.
I think there is only one way with inflation and can't see interest rates getting any lower or negative. The interest rate is lower than my student loan!
I will say I had human intervention as my card kept failing for the fee, so when I spoke to Nationwide, they just said add the fee to the loan and overpay (which would reduce the overpayment yearly overpayment limit a little).
I just wanted to speak somewhere about my positive experience. I know this isn't helpful for new mortgages or someone wanting to transfer in, but it's impressively designed (the automation / quote interface).0
