  • Just had my mortgage offer through! Very relieved. Timescales do seem to be vastly different for everyone. My fingers are crossed for you all! I would definitely recommend chasing, even just for peace of mind that they have everything they need. 03/08 Viewing 1 04/08 DIP Received 04/08 Viewing 2 04/08 Offer Accepted 07/08 Mortgage Application Submitted 10/08 Additional Docs Added to Application 13/08 Valuation Booked 17/08 Valuation Completed & Received by Nationwide 17/08 Hard Credit Search (Credit Karma/TransUnion) 17/08 Hard Credit Search (ClearScore/Equifax) 19/08 Additional Docs Requested (19/08 request went in my spam folder so didn't see until 25/08) 23/08 Valuation & Home Buyers' Report Received from Connells 25/08 Supplied Additional Docs (19/08 request went in my spam folder so didn't see until 25/08) 01/09 Confirmation of Additional Docs Received (told I would likely be reassessed today with an expected update by the end of today) 07/09 Mortgage Offer Received!

    Omg that’s amazing congratulations!!
I’ve rang today to check they’ve received the deposit docs they wanted, they confirmed this and said it should be assessed and I should hear back by next Wednesday 15th.
    Hoping it’s sooner I’m so impatient!🤦🏼‍♀️

We submitted our application yesterday, which was relatively painless. On the plus side, the mortgage advisor we have been assigned is a delight and seems very helpful, but ultimately the decision falls with people deeper inside the organisation, so time will tell...
  • My mortgage timescale in case this helps anyone in a similar situation. I applied myself (single applicant) without a broker/advice, 20% deposit.

Full time employed, worked throughout the pandemic so no furlough/gaps etc. Spotless credit record.
Second time buyer, current mortgage with nationwide applying for more (double current balance) for new place. I also have my main current account with Nationwide.

26th August DiP applied for, most recent payslip requested which I emailed that day. Initially the the DiP was "accept" but then I made one minor change and it came back as "refer".

27th DiP changed back to "accept" again then I put through the full application.

1st September valuation instructed and booked for 2nd 9:15am. I went with the basic/free valuation with a plan to get my own more in depth survey done after getting the mortgage offer since I was worried about a potentially significant down valuation.

2nd They "received" the valuation at 6:53am so definitely desktop/automated.

6th Hard credit search showing on clearscore.

8th Mortgage offer issued and in the post.

So for me just less than two weeks from application to offer. Unfortunately this doesn't matter since my "cash buyer" has decided they don't actually have the funds after all and have withdrawn. Second time this has happened to me with this sale, I'm never going to see cash buyers as an advantage again. No more interest in my property so have had to withdraw from my purchase.

    Thanks great news congratulations
  • I've had to sent the deposit statements again, basically the account I have only do statements once a year which is automatically generated and so a new one apparently cannot be generated by the bank, so I've had to go into the branch, get the most recent statement for the account printed out and send it like that. The MA has now said that the underwriter will cross reference the documents due to the genuine issues I have in generating the statements. I caved today and paid the searches I was so fed up with waiting. So I could well be £400 quid short if this mortgage offer doesn't come through. Yet another tense wait

Try not to worry, I’m sure everything will be fine! We have had to send the deposit savings statements again and we paid for the searches last month! Look on the plus side, Atleast once you get your offer the searches will be well on the way! Best of luck :)
  • Hi everyone,

We put our application in first thing Saturday morning (direct, via a Nationwide MA), and nothing has happened with it since. No requests for additional docs, no questions, no valuation booked… Looks like others had their valuations booked pretty much immediately. Our DIP was initially referred before being subjectively accepted (this was over a fortnight ago - pretty long wait for the MA appointment).

I know I’m being really impatient, but just wondering if others had experience of this?

    Thanks.

    Hey,
so we popped our full application in 19th August, and didn’t hear anything until the 23rd for our valuation to be booked and completed the 3rd September.
If it puts your mind at ease, we didn’t get any further documents requested until just after the valuation was done and that was only for additional proof of deposit.
Try not to stress, we are still waiting for our offer 😩.
If you go online and search NFI SLA it gives you their estimated time scales for each thing, and it changes daily! 😊
  • Thanks so much! That is definitely helpful, and does put my mind at ease a bit to know that not everyone has the valuation booked within 24 hours.

I’ll keep you all posted with our timescales as things move along.
