- 7th Sep - Application submitted directly through Nationwide using one of their advisors
- 8th Sep - The online portal updates stating all documents received and accepted
- 8th Sep - I get a call from Countrywide surveyors to arrange my buildings survey
- 16th Sep - Vendor's estate agent confirms valuation booked for 23rd Sep
- 21st Sep - Surveyor's portal confirms outsourced buildings survey booked
- 28th Sep - I contact Nationwide asking what the delay is and am told they are waiting on the valuation
- 30th Sep - Vendor's estate agent confirms both surveys have been carried out on their booked days
- 30th Sep - I contact Countrywide asking where the valuation has gone and they say they won't supply it until the buildings survey report has completed, which will take another week or so(!) They suggest Nationwide send a Post Valuation Query (PVQ) to Countrywide to request the valuation now.
- 30th Sep - I ask Nationwide to request a PVQ and am awaiting their response.
Hey ho, all part of the fun of house buying I suppose
Thursday 7th comes and I still haven't heard anything so I call Countrywide again. They state that the Valuation is completed and closed and that they have sent everything they need to. Back on the phone to Nationwide (a 25 minute wait on hold) and I am now told that the application has not been updated since the 8th September, and that as far as they are concerned, no valuations has even been booked. This is why no searches have taken place yet; they have done nothing for the last month.
It seems the valuation department is now aware of this and is perusing it, but they are still bound by their slow SLA's, and no amount of requesting ours is dealt with as a matter of urgency seemed to yield any change. It's okay that mistakes happen but it's how you deal with them that's telling and both Countrywide and Nationwide don't seem to care that their process has broken down somehow. Think I need to find the email address of someone a little more important at Nationwide and let them know what's going on; that might get thing moving.0 -
Anyone know how long it takes for Nationwide to make contact with you after taking out a mortgage or their online banking is fully functional? Been nearly a week and no correspondence and online banking is not fully set up? ThanksRe-mortgaged Oct 2021 £385459 Originally ends Oct 2049

16 September 2021 - Applied for DIP
16 September 2021 - Received DIP
23 September 2021 - 2.5hr Mortgage Call
23 September 2021 - Passed checks but referred due to LTV % only
24 September 2021 - All docs sent to Nationwide
27 September 2021 - Valuation complete
28 September 2021 - Valuation approvedI should also note that the flat is actually worth £1.1m (I got it valued by Foxtons) but I am buying it for £875k.
Still waiting to hear back. I just saw that they left me a voicemail saying that they have an update - this was LAST THURSDAY. They didn't follow it up with an email. I will call in the morning.
I checked my credit file tonight and they haven't done a hard check (oddly). I also was pleasantly surprised to see my score has risen by 159 points!- They declined my application because of a credit issue (which has now been resolved) and a query regarding my address history.
I have since furnished them with an updated credit score / rectification which was not present on my file at the time that they looked at it, and also asked them to clarify their address history point.
Very frustrating. My mortgage advisor has passed my updated file on to the underwriter but they can't guarantee that they will re-review it....

20/09/21 - broker sent of DIP23/09/21 - Application received
27/09/21 - Valuation booked03/10/21 - hard search05/10/21 - Valuation.
Previous mortgage for same house fell through from being devalued. Praying this doesn't happen again as I know this is a big issue in today's current market.
23/09/21 - Application received
27/09/21 - Valuation booked
03/10/21 - Hard Search
07/10/21 - Valuation due
I've heard that people received confirmation usually within 24 hours of the valuation (sometimes within the same hour) so I'd be interested to find out when you get yours!
Out of interest, do you know if yours is a drive by valuation? I think ours might be because I've not heard anything from the estate agent to say that they've had a valuation booked with the vendor
So my timeline overall:
23/09/21 - Application received
27/09/21 - Valuation booked
03/10/21 - Hard Search
07/10/21 - Valuation
07/10/21 - Mortgage Offer Received!
It's amazing how long it feels like when you're waiting but the whole process for me was only 2 weeks!
On to the rest of the buying process!0 -
We finally received a mortgage offer on the 30th September. Our mortgage appointment was 24th August. So just over 5 weeks! One of us was self employed and had SEISS grants during lockdown so it took a bit longer but was starting to get very anxious.80% LTV.We never received updates about valuations etc and I had to chase our advisor at Nationwide.Thought I’d post in case there’s anyone in a similar position 😁0

murmar said:Hello all,
I am losing the plot a little and just after a little reassurance.
We are going through an application with NW using a MB on a RTB property. Communication hasn't been great but that's another matter.
We put in a full application on the 18th August. Sent off payslips, deposit proof, EPC. Had a few niggles and one thing and another. Been told today (30th Sept) that all documents have been marked as satisfied and have requested a valuation but no date.
Had a hard search completed on the 17th September.
No other communication.
What does this mean? What stage are we at?
It seems like a very lengthy process so far, I don't know if I should be putting more pressure on the MB or just ride it out?0 -

For anyone having sleepless nights take solace in the fact that we’ve just received our offer 12 weeks after applying through a broker. Our situation was complicated by myself receiving an seiss grant in April and having bought a buy to let property in June. Things were painfully slow until I called Nationwide myself.0

Like others I received a text telling me my valuation report was received and a minute later my mortgage offer was produced. I'll keep my fingers crossed for everyone else

Latest is that Nationwide have sent an email to Countrywide on 7th Oct demanding the report as a matter of urgency, and Countrywide replying on 8th Oct, which Nationwide have yet to acknowledge.
I feel like a private detective just to get two companies to talk to one another.
