I'm a FTB and looking for 85% LTV too. I'm single though so doing it on my own. I'm on flexible furlough at the moment but my mortgage advisor checked with lenders and they said that as long as I had a 15% deposit it would be fine.
Its a low value property I'm buying though, only looking for a mortgage of £48k

The process is totally random, sometimes they hard credit check before valuation, sometimes after. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason in the way things are organised!

I know, but it varies so much, some people getting offers the day after valuation, some waiting over a week. Some credit checks done immediately some after valuation.

Finally heard from the underwriter today via MB (working day 15 for those keeping count), they'd questioned why I was buying in Leeds but work in London, and how the 3.5 hour (each way) commute could be done on the £50/month I put down as travel costs. Had to get a letter from my employer saying that I work remotely and don't need to commute.
They also asked for a bank statement showing my utility payments, which they already have (weird how they'd miss it considering the account is only used for utilities and rent.

All these 15-20 day waits give me anxiety 😂 I'm only on day 4 at the moment and I'm due to cry if they don't get back soon! Patience is not my strong point 😂

First time on here! Where do I begin!

So, I (MA) applied for a Nationwide mortgage on 29/07. It was received via txt on 30/07 to say they’d received it. 24 hours later, I got a txt saying valuation booked for 10/08. This was done on Monday and reported back to me on 13/08 that it’s being approved (good news). I thought by now all my documents would have being assessed, however, they asked for an extra weeks bank statements from MA. These were sent yesterday. I’m literally biting my nails with stress, so I called them myself an hour ago, to be told that my documents had not yet being assessed, this will take 8 working days, then a further 8 working days for the underwriters.. I just can’t cope. So basically, 04/09 is when I should have the outcome.

I’m a FTB buying on my own. I hate putting pressure on my family when venting, so, thought here might be a good place to let loose  :s:smile: is anyone else in this situation?

    Thanks for reading!
