  • @lemliss We've had soft searches showing on Equifax and TransUnion. It shows on Equifax as 3 soft searches labelled: Id Verification, Credit Quotations and Credit search (subsequent search). Nothing is showing on Experian at all. We both are in excellent band, all green etc, credit card balances at zero. Our debt/credit usage is 0-1% as we do Netflix each month on credit card and pay off. Financial association added also Clearscore. I'll check on Noodle - not used that before.
    NW timescales:
    DIP: 13/7
    App: 16/7
    Valuation: 6/8
    NW offer: 20/8

Mine showed soft sesrch on equifax and hard on transunion, noddle alerted me to it being done the same day it had been carried out. I actually like noddle better than the paid CRA accounts haha x

So it's now been a month (13/7) since we put the DIP in at NW. It's 20 working days since our application was accepted. We've had the valuation done yet still no hard searches. I think they have done the initial underwriting as they've asked for additional documents over the last few weeks, the last request being the 3/8 yet still no update. Hate being in limbo of not knowing.
They may have all the information they need from the soft searches. We had soft searches for our DIP on Transunion and Experian but only saw the Experian entry much later because I use MSE Credit Club to view it and they only update it once a month. Our hard search has only been recorded on Transunion though. Now on working day 24 since we applied and MB seems to be confident that we will hear something this week.

I cant find Noddle online, it says its now TransUnion, which I think is Credit Karma, I've been checking all though and not had any alerts.

I'm also thinking this... there'll be nothing showing as adverse at Soft Credit check so they may just do a hard search prior to offer to check that all is still in order (I'm hoping anyway!). They'd have hard checked by now as it's a month since application.

  • Hi All,
Im hoping for some piece of mind, or something that can calm be down a bit! Me and my girlfriend are buying our first home, I'm 24 and she's 21.
We've given all documents plus a few extras they asked for, got our mortgage in principle, then recently got a text saying the valuation is today.

I'm super anxious at the moment as there is a lot resting on it. My girlfriends step mum is terminally ill and has months left, she has helped us out as she wants to see us in a house before she go's, also its the same story with my grandma.. On top of this I was in hospital for my heart a few weeks back and I dont think the stress and anxiety is helping my recovery, a lot of pressure!

I was wondering if since I got the text about the valuation, if its a sign that the other checks were okay? Both credit scores are well in the green and we have combined income of around £65K, plus both our outgoings are super low. So is there hope or could it still go south? Baring in mind the house is a new build so I dont expect there to be any issues with the valuation. Thanks!
  • Hello all, thought I would join the Nationwide bandwagon as my partner and I are just starting the process.  Applying for 90% LTV.
7/8/2020 - DIP submitted to Nationwide by broker, got referred to underwriter
12/8/2020 - spoke to broker who told us that Nationwide are automatically referring all 90% LTV applications to the underwriter at the DIP stage, and that they had not published any set timescale to review these
13/8/2020 - Found out DIP was accepted, hopefully submitting full application later today

I'm wondering whether we'll need to go through another full lot of underwriting, or whether they'd have already checked most of what they need to know to get through the DIP.
FTB 90% LTV application with Nationwide:

DIP: 7/8 (referred due to LTV)
    Application submitted: 13/8
Valuation completed and NW text confirming it has been received: 20/8
    Hard search performed: 24/8
    Offer issued: 18/9

Hi - I think all DIP refers are done within 2 days and it's a provisional acceptance based on the info you provided along with soft credit check. One you submit full application it goes for initial underwriting process (current 11 day average wait). The rest is unknown as other people have had such a mix of order of how things are done and timescales etc. Normally in 2 weeks following application, you'll get booked in for mortgage valuation and they'll request further documents so assuming this is actually a human requesting these but who knows!!! Good luck

The whole process is so nerve wrecking but try not to stress yourself out! All the best with your valuation, when did you make your application and was it through a mortgage broker or directly?

Thank you very much for your reply!  It feels like an agonising process already, trying to stay positive but aware there are so many hurdles still to get through first!  Fingers crossed for all of us!
