  • Morning all!
    We are still waiting....
Application received April 14th (through NW advisor). Valuation was carried out last week (May 6th) and we had a full building survey carried out weeks ago which didn't identify amy major concerns.
The valuation was carried out by the same company who did the full building survey (at a cost of £640). I chased yday to be told that there is a Post Valuation Query regarding ?structural movement? That is news to ourselves and the vendor since the structure/roof/walls etc all scored a perfect 1!
Apparently NW have asked the Valuation guys for further info and this can take another 6 working days for a response! NW  have the full building survey!
    I am getting immensely stressed.
FTB and no chain for us or vendors!
NW have said everything else is fine and it is just waiting on the PVQ!

Our sellers want it completed by the 30th aswell obviously to avoid Stamp duty, we had our mortgage offer in the post Saturday just gone and now our solicitors are awaiting it(anyone who's had there offer is this sent to them by post?) All searches are done, whole process has been 10 weeks so far and now its gone quiet 🙄

Waiting for a valuation and finding it stressful. Has any one had a Nationwide Mortgage Application reduced / downvalued recently? (50% LTV)

I'm currently in the process of remortgaging to Nationwide :) We got our AIP on Friday last week, but had to send in a 12 month statement for our current mortgage, which I only managed to scan and email today. Will see what this whole process is like, I haven't changed lenders before.
  • Hello everyone, wondering if someone can help me with a timescale or just reassure me?

first time buyer, applied on 23/04/2021

    my timescale so far
23/04/2021- nationwide text to say they’ve received my application - same day requested gifted deposit letter, my mortgage broker sent it off
27/04/2021- text to say valuation is booked for 11th may
03/05/2021- hard search done on credit file
    10/05/2021- requested recent months payslip
11/05/2021- text to say they’ve received the valuation report
Does anyone know when I’m likely to hear anything? Also if there was a problem with lending me it would they have told me by now? I’m so worried, I hate waiting it’s awful ahah😩

@Ellie123321 if you got confirmation of valuation on 10/5. Expect at least 5-6 working days (mon-fri) before you hear back. That was the rough timeline I was constantly given and was actuality for my application. Sadly its a sit an wait, its not nice I know how you feel!

@goodwithsaving my valuation was bang on what I offered. They didn't downvalue. That said I was pretty certain on the value of the place I was offering on. That said my offer was under the vendors asking.

Hello - thought I'd join the people waiting on tenterhooks for mortgage news! We're currently selling/buying and have applied for our purchase. This is our timeline so far:
    • 7 May - DIP (directly from NW online)
    • 8 May (weekend) - full application submitted (directly to NW online) - text confirmation received. Supporting docs requested (payslip/latest statement for current mortgage) and emailed through - automatic email confirmation received
    • 8 May - online status checker showing 'valuation requested'
    • 11 May - online status checker showing 'supporting docs received and awaiting review'
    • Today - online status checker has not been available since yesterday evening because the website is down for planned maintenance :s I'd hoped that this would have stopped me obsessively checking for updates, but instead I'm checking for it going live again!  :D
All this waiting around is very difficult - I feel for everyone here in the same boat. I have no patience at all - every text I receive is pounced upon and then is a disappointment when it's not from NW. I guess we'll all get there eventually!

    Hi everyone,
Sorry to read that some of you have had long delays with getting mortgages approved with Nationwide.
we were extremely lucky and had our offer approved within a week. The only things I can share that I think helped us:
    - sending documents in advance to mortgage consultant (if you’re going in house)
-making sure you only send the documents they’ve asked for on your decision in principle certificate
    - I read that countryside were a bit slow with reports for a homebuyers survey so just had the valuation report done and had our survey done elsewhere.

Sorry if that isn’t much help for the those  who have already applied but hope it helps for anyone starting the process.
🤞🏽 Fingers crossed you all get your approvals soon
