Do they normally book valuation after checking initial documents? On tracker it says valuation booking date & report requested but when I spoke to them on web chat, I was told it will be done after they’ve checked the documents?
Our broker said they normally instruct valuation straight away and aim to get the underwriting done in the interim. With us it ended up being a desktop valuation which was done within 2 days of the application being submitted so the document checking and underwriting was all done after. It just depends on availability of surveyor and whether it's a desktop val or not I think.
I think it’s a physical valuation, but I don’t think it’s been booked yet. Only requested, so il wait till end of the week then escalate it.

As I understand it NW instruct Countrywide to do the survey so it'll be Countrywide that book it. If it's a physical val then Countrywide will need to contact the vendor to arrange a time. Maybe contact the estate agent as they should know when the survey is booked.

We have just had ours issued too!
Congratulations to us both I say 🤗😁
  • Today I have submitted my third mortgage application to nationwide in the last 7 months so nervous as my credit score has taken a huge beating due to the previous hard searches from them. First 2 mortgage offers where for the same house as first offer expired so submitted it again and now have been informed that the development team have terminated the contract for the builder as the progress just isn't good enough. Luckily I have found another property but so worried the hard credit checks could potentially jeopardise my chances. Back to the dreaded wait for that offer text 🙈

I’m super worried for this. We are currently waiting for our first mortgage offer for a new build that isn’t due to finish until Oct/Nov so if the offer expires after 6 months we could be cutting it really fine! How have you found the process with Nationwide so far?

I reserved this property last April was supposed to be ready for October 2020 and every push back since has been 2 months each time, most sites are usually pretty good at completing when they should this one was just a shambles, the one I am purchasing now isnt a new build can't cope with that stress again of the unknown.
I have found nationwide really good, once the valuation has been done I've found the mortgage offer to usually be the next day!
Good luck with your offer 😊
