Feel like it’s been weeks but things have really slowed down for us...
    7/5 - Nationwide DIP Accepted
    12/5 - Nationwide Full Application
14/5 - Valuation Instructed but no word on booking date
    14/5 - Solicitor received paperwork
    Today - Solicitor confirms instruction
No further updates from Nationwide...
Feel like this is gonna be the hardest part!
Big congratulations to all the new offers!
  • Does anyone know the timeline for receiving the paper copy through the post once you get the confirmation text / email about the mortgage offer? We got ours 9am Friday morning and are hoping to get it shortly
  • Hello! New to this thread and having a small panic and  just want some thoughts.
We didn't expect to make the stamp duty deadline originally when we had an offer accepted on 6 May but as there is no chain above us we were told it could be possible and our solicitor was going to try her best. Searches etc have pretty much returned and the legals are in full swing but I think we may be scuppered by the Mortgage stuff.. thoughts.
submitted application to NW yesterday. Received a text today that valuation is set for 7 June... three whole weeks time! Do you think there is still for us to complete by 30 June if we are only having the valuation on 7 June? What is the process after this? Shall I give up this dream (and the £13k difference in stamp duty tax that I will have to pay?)

@danielsheard I got mine through the post about 4 days after. Offer received through broker on 10/05. Got the posted version on 14/05.

Congrats to those that got their offers in! :)

    Hiya
it would all depend on what comes up on the valuation report. We had our outcome 2 days after the survey was done. You might need to factor in a building survey if you plan to have one too. I found independent surveyors had quicker availability than bigger companies.
    Good luck 🤞🏽

I think it’s a physical valuation, but I don’t think it’s been booked yet. Only requested, so il wait till end of the week then escalate it.
As I understand it NW instruct Countrywide to do the survey so it'll be Countrywide that book it. If it's a physical val then Countrywide will need to contact the vendor to arrange a time. Maybe contact the estate agent as they should know when the survey is booked.
@Sonson91, I caved today and phoned NW. I spoke with someone really helpful, who said (as we suspected) that desktop valuations are requested straight away, so if there's a delay in getting a valuation booked like we've both seen, it means that it will be some kind of physical valuation - either a 'drive by' or a proper visit - she couldn't tell me. She did say that there was a turnaround time of 6 working days between the valuation being 'requested' and a date being booked, and apparently mine has just gone beyond that timescale, meaning that she could chase it up - I could hear her typing the chasing message while on the phone to me! So, phoning up is definitely worth it if you've been waiting 6 working days or more. She said that I should have a valuation date by Friday at the latest - fingers crossed. After the valuation has happened, they usually get the report back in 2 to 3 days, apparently. Then it's a few more days of waiting while they process it and (fingers crossed again) get the offer together.

NB: as my supporting docs are showing on the tracker as 'checked and satisfactory', and I've had no further updates or requests for docs/info, I asked about the general procedure for the rest of the application process, and she said that NW are basically happy with the application and that it is approved and ready for offer, just subject to valuation now. I'm very much hoping this is true - but assuming it is, it's probably a good sign if you see this status for your docs online!

We’ve now got our valuation booked for this Friday and the hard search was completed yesterday. Fingers crossed we hear fairly soon after valuation!

Has anyone else here applied for help to buy alongside the mortgage? I’ve looked at our help to buy tracker today and seen our MA hasn’t sent our application for that off even though the mortgage application is progressing and I’m worried this could cause us some hold up!

    This is my updated timeline.

    22/04/2021 - received DIP

    28/04/2021 - viewed house

    30/04/2021 - offer accepted

    03/05/2021 - officially ‘reserved’ plot

    08/05/2021 - mortgage application

    08/05/2021 - rejected gift letter

    12/05/2021 - resent gift letter

    13/05/2021 - valuation booked for 21/05

    19/05/2021 - hard searches completed

Hey quick question, how do you find out when you’ve been hard searched? Didn’t think credit reference agencies update that quickly?
    Thanks
