Following with interest, our application was submitted on 12th April but valuation isn't until 28th so hoping they underwrite it before then so they can offer post-valuation if all matches up, rather than not starting it until valuation is back....

From reading others, they underwrite it then do the valuation aa valuation costs lenders I believe, then once that's back, mortgage offer is sent out via text and email

@Bessant31fibgers crossed this us the case and we find out if we have an offer a week on Weds after the valuation has been done. Bloody hell, I knew it would be nerve wracking buying a house but I had no idea the level of stress it would induce!! I really hope your wait is over soon too.

It is nerve wracking, it kinda makes you feel like your under interrogation lol hopefully all over soon and all good news
  • Slow and steady for our application.

Currently waiting for Nationwide to receive/assess the latest survey as the Homebuyers Report wasn't processed properly for the first survey. This meant they've had to instruct one from scratch three weeks later just adding to the stress of it all.

Just hope it's a quick send of an offer once this is done otherwise a waste of 4 weeks waiting!

Please help? Our mortgage broker is puzzled too! We can borrow 435k through the affordability calculator (needed to cover debt from large extension) but when Nationwide replied they will only lend us 334k saying we have undeclared debt?? We have declared everything and given all our credit reports but they won’t tell us exactly what they’ve found.

  • Today I am applying for my mortgage again, I had a offer accepted 5 months ago I am purchasing a new build but the house has been delayed now until end of July so even the extension won't cover it 🙈 really hope this offer will be straightforward, still just as nervous as I was the first time around!

@Bessant31 good news! Sounds like you are with the underwriters now so fingers crossed you'll know something by end of this week/early next.

My broker forgot to send my latest payslip so they asked for this today. Hopefully we won't wait too long for them to re-look at the case dor document checking and then we can move to underwriting too.
