  • Hey guys, thank you so much for your posts they’ve been really helpful! My situation seems unlike any I’ve seen on here so far but I’m hoping someone can help  :#  We are first time buyers, using help to buy, 20% equity loan and going through a broker. Our application was submitted on the 11th jan, after 7 days our valuation still wasn’t booked; my broker reached out to nationwide who said the valuation booking was out of their hands. After reading various posts from this thread I realised that nationwide often book their surveys through countrywide so I reached out to them directly. Turns out nationwide had given countrywide the completely wrong number for our estate agents and the surveyors had been calling them for a number of days trying to book our survey. (19th Jan) At this point our seller was becoming very restless due to us previously having an application declined last minute with NatWest and had already started viewings on the house again and received multiple other offers. Fast forward to today, we have had to increase our offer to match another and secure the property again; our survey was booked for tomorrow (27th jan) but received a call saying the surveyor is sick and now won’t go in until 8th Feb. Nationwide are being really unhelpful with moving the survey forward and countrywide have said they will try their best. Does anyone have any advice on getting the valuation done sooner?
