Nationwide Mortgage

That's great!! Congratulations x0

Application was submitted on the 2nd Dec. It was referred straight away though - we presume it is because we fixed our current mortgage with nationwide (at a low interest rate), paid the first payment and then applied the next day to port and borrow more. Broker thinks this is the only reason we have been referred but makes me very nervous. I am in the same position and all our searches are done and questions answered etc. I am hoping for a move in January! Will you comment on Friday if you hear?JKP1245 said:
When did you put your application in? The timeline seems so long I was told that we should know more by Friday but not holding my breath. We have the contract for the property, all searches completed, enquiries answered just waiting on the mortgage to be able to complete 😩Jas_cur said:
Yes it does. My broker has just called and the underwriter won't be looking at it till the 21st December as and if everything is OK a valuation will be booked. My broker did say that it may be a desktop top one though.JKP1245 said:
Yeah we went through a broker, seems a bit of pot luck if the valuation is done prior or post the underwriter stage!Jas_cur said:
Did you apply directly through a broker? So there is hope then that a valuation hasn't been booked yet!JKP1245 said:Hoping this will help anyone who is waiting for updates. I spoke directly with Nationwide and they were super helpful on the phone I got a lot more info than via chat. We haven't had a valuation booked but are currently in the queue for the underwriter (they are working to 12 working days at the mo and we are on day 9), if all okay and nothing additional required the valuation will be instructed after that. We have also paid for the home buyers survey so not sure whether this is why we have the valuation after the application is assessed as some seem to have it right at the beginning.0 -
Try not to worry too much I'm sure your mortgage broker is right - who knows the methods behind the madness, it's like some dark art to me 😂 We were referred straight away but believe it's because we are applying for 90% mortgage. Yes of course I spoke to mortgage advisor today and she believes we are through the underwriting process which now means valuation to follow, however won't take this as gospel until I see confirmation of a valuation being booked as not had anything yet and was half expecting to have to post a load additional docs and stuff too!Jas_cur said:

I will try not to worry. 21st seems like a very long time away and that if they stick to the dates!
That's great news if yours has gone through the underwriters. You will hopefully have it before Christmas!0 -
Fingers crossed! We got a messaged yesterday afternoon from nationwide that our valuation has been booked for 18/12! Hopefully on the home stretch now!16/10 - Decision in principle

Hi all!
Thought I’d jump on this with my own timeline and join everybody else with their waiting anxiety! Me and my partner are first time buyers on a new build property, using H2B loan and H2B ISAs. As we are using help to buy 2 we can’t apply for mortgage until the 16th!!
DIP Accept: 15/10
Reserved Plot: 14/11
Solicitor instructed: 15/11
Mortgage Application: 16/120 -
Hi everyone, after a couple of weeks of lurking here, I thought I’d share my timeline if it’s helpful (now that I can breathe again!).
FTB using H2B; 52% LTV
Full application submitted & confirmation via text - 23 November
Valuation received & approved and mortgage offered — 10 December
17 days in total; 13 working days
Applied via broker who had estimated three weeks.
After hearing nothing post application, I got three text messages at once yesterday! Such a relief. Now to get through the other milestones.Good luck to everyone waiting!1 -

Hello all,alexthomas21 said:Hello all,
Wanted to give you an update on my application, no formal offer yet from Nationwide however my broker has said that I am in the queue for an offer letter to be instructed, which nationwide have said, should be received by the 26th November... and have passed all assessments.
90% LTV mortgage - single application
12/10/2020 - Application submitted
14/10/2020 - Valuation booked for 16th October 2020
21/10/2020 - Hard search done on file.
28/10/2020 - Request made for LISA statement
19/11/2020 - Broker updated to say all accepted, all checks completed by underwriter, awaiting mortgage offer letter (TBC)
Finally, have my mortgage offer notification today (9th December 2020).
hopefully, it won't be long but I am awaiting searches and enquiries. I hope you all get your mortgage offer soon!
Haha, so, don't know if I should laugh or cry however, My mortgage offer came through but for the wrong house. Think there has been some mix up and my mortgage broker put my DIP through as my first house viewing and then updated Nationwide with the new property (two weeks later) after my broker was told of the new property and bid accepted, however Nationwide wont budge and state a new application needs to go in.
My mortgage broker has spoken to their BDM and they are going to try and push this through as quickly as possible to get it done and on this DIP, I came back as a straight "accept" instead of subjective accept, which I presume is better. So fingers crossed, it all goes ok.
Friday 11th December 2020 - Application submitted (with all previous document and new document)0 -
@alexthomas21
Mine took 5 working days with a straight accept so fingers crossed 🤞1
