fingersallcrossed2020 said:Hi everyone just wanted to update:
We are still waiting on a nationwide offer, 50 working days today!! However we applied with a different lender on Wednesday and received our offer from them this morning!! 3 working days!! We are blown away, so happy, after 10 weeks of complete stress and anxiety. I still can’t believe it. So to all the others waiting for an age and are outside nationwide’s service levels I would speak to your brokers about applying somewhere else. Nationwide are absolutely horrendous. Also I’d advise checking checkmyfile.com it details your credit reports from the 4 credit agencies so you will be able to see absolutely everything a lender will.
Thank you for keeping me company on this crazy ride, it’s still touch and go if we will be in by Christmas but we might just do it!!
Good luck everyone still waiting xx
Who have you gone with? You must feel so happy and relieved!
I’ll keep everything crossed for you that you’ll be in for Christmas 😊 xxx0 -

So, after 11 weeks we got our mortgage offer today! Hooray!! 😃😃😃
Our timeline is pretty much this:
18th September - full application submitted via our broker. It’s a FTB 90% LTV mortgage so it went to the underwriters. We had to submit 3 payslips each, 3 months of bank statements each and a copy of my savings account statement showing the source of the deposit.12th October - NW asked for more up to date bank statements and another copy of my savings account statement.28th October - NW queried the origins of the deposit and whether it was classed as inheritance from my late dad or a gift from my mum (as my dads estate went to her as she was his legal next of kin). So my mam wrote a letter detailing that the money had come from the sale of dads house .
14th November - text from NW to say that the valuation had been booked for 18th.
18th November - valuation done and priced at what we offered for the house.23rd November - homebuyers survey done.4th December - offer issued! Phew!We were worried as my partner did have an overdraft limit of £1000 which he was in every month up to the limit but we paid it off in full a month before we applied for the mortgage, we were petrified that it would result as a decline.
He did have some other debts that we paid off in full as well just before applying. Thanks to everyone on here for their support whenever I’ve been on here having a wobble!I wish the best and sincerest of luck to everyone else waiting for their offer ❤️❤️
I am so relieved that it’s all sorted out finally, I was terrified they’d decline it.Can’t wait to get everything else sorted now and move in 😃
Although we’re moving with two cats which will be a challenge as they fight tooth and nail when they know they’re going into the cat carrier 🤣🤣 xxx0 -

It's so nice to read some positive messages on this thread. Congratulations to all who received an offer this week. Great news about the market starting to open up for 90% LTVs, hopefully this will only have a positive impact on wait times for Nationwide too. Good luck to all others waiting x1

Good luck anyone this week waiting. Our mortgage broker said after chasing on Friday that our application is due to be looked at by senior underwriters so couldn't push it any further. Will be 4 months since application was received on Sunday.0

I am the most impatient person going. I applied for our nationwide mortgage a week ago, got the text message and nothing since. Is this normal?0

Our application moved pretty quick to start with. Application submitted and conveyancer appointed on the same day. Had lots of forms and document requests within the first few days and it didn’t feel like it was going to be a long process.
Fast forward two weeks to today and Nationwide are still requesting documents from us as the ones we submitted were not quite right. It didn’t help that the person we spoke to on the phone didn’t seem very interested and gave us wrong info on what documents they required. What we are told when we phone them up is always slightly different to what the email says. Still getting emails going into the junk folder from Nationwide which doesn’t help.
On a positive note the person I spoke to today was super helpful. It’s taking Nationwide about one and a half days to view a document and say if its ok or not for us.
We are both self employed with a 40 something % LTV, remortgaging and requesting additional borrowing for an extension . Not sure what the next stage is for us, whether its a straight forward offer or if they dig into our finances a bit more. Already had survey last week and conveyancer has “received our mortgage deed” which is the latest update on the tracker.0
