  • Its so stressful waiting for a yes or no, our application went into final checks on the 27th October and still no word. It will be 7 working days on Thursday which is how long they said it will take. Seeing other applications that were submitted after ours and valuations done after ours get their offers before us just causes so much more worry and anxiety.  There seems to be no logic to it.

    Hi guys
I’ve made an application to Nationwide through a broker. I foolishly didn’t check all three credit files (rookie error) and turns out I have a late payment 14 months ago. Was an error with Anglian Water when closing the account and I settled it as soon as I got the letter, but 30 day late payment marked on credit file. Anyway, found this out after the application had been submitted and now panicking. I’ve disputed it, because the bill they sent had no due date and I had a direct debit in place and when I spoke to them they confirmed the last direct debit in July would cover the full balance...obviously it did not and they needed more. Has anyone had a mark like this and still had an offer. I’m expecting to get a decline before I can sort this with Anglian Water. Some people tell me as it’s just one late payment it’s not a track record and they will understand, but I’m not so sure.

Any help from those with offers would be of some reassurance.
Their relaxness does depend on the LTV we found.
    What is your LTV?
I’m using help to buy, so technically only 75%.
Ah I wouldn’t think it’d be much of an issue.
We opted for 85% in the end, but did apply for the 90% and even at DIP stage wouldn’t accept as my partner had placed £20 on skybet.
It seems there a lot less strict on those with lower LTVs with this sort of thing, but may be best to ask your MB?
    Thank you.
    Hopefully it will be ok.
I asked the broker and her thought process was that as a AIP had been issued not to worry and there are other lenders if need be. However, I’ve nearly put myself in an early grave stressing about one application. Not sure I can cope with two.

Apparently we had been referred and we will hear by the end of next week. How does it take two weeks to review some documents!?! I just don’t think this is going to be good news.
We’re a week ahead of you and last week we were told by our broker that our application had been sent for final checks.
The waiting is awful isn’t it, especially when I read that people are getting decisions quite quickly.

I’m trying so hard to stay positive but I’m like you, the longer it goes on the more worried I’m getting.

Really hope it goes well for you! 🤞🏻
It’s hard trying to keep the positivity going isn’t it.
Hopefully we both will hear a decision soon. Good luck.
Oh I know, part of me thinks that “no news is good news” but another part of me thinks that if it was a yes we would have had it by now.

Good luck with yours, wouldn’t it be a lovely end to a difficult year for us all to get a “yes”! 😃

Just spoken to my broker.  He spoke to Nationwide, who have really !!!!!! up now as they have removed my partners name from our current mortgage...  They are refusing to change it back, and refusing to reopen the case.  However, he has just found a 70% LTV from another provider, at 1.7% ish 5 year fix, the savings will more than cover my ERC and apparently their turn around time is about 5 days?!?!  Says 100% likely I'll be accepted on my own.  Happy days, FU Nationwide, pulling all accounts and going elsewhere :):):)  F ing bank ing t watttttts
  • Applied for a Nationwide mortgage on the 24/09/20, initially it was refered but then last week we had a txt saying DIP is approved. Valuation was done and report received on the 2/11/20 but now it has gone back to DIP - Refer?!
    Anybody ever had this before?
    Thanks
  • Hi all, new to this forum stuff! Just can’t stand the waiting! We have had our joint mortgage “referred” as we’ve relocated and adding onto our current mortgage with Nationwide. Kind of hoping that no news is good news? We had KFI on 16/10 payslips and employer details more or less straight away requested and just sat tapping our fingers waiting now :( we have used a nationwide mortgage consultant as that’s who we’re with anyway. Already have the deposit in the bank from the old house as we’ve already sold that and currently living with family whilst we wait for Nationwide to do their thing. Not sure whether to check in with Nationwide or not? Or just sit tight and wait? Keep seeing that people are receiving txts and things and have none of those yet  :(

Hi, my broker submitted mine on the same day. I think if you’re referred at the outset it’s 20 working days for them to review the initial paperwork. I got a text on the 19th to confirm the application was received, so it can’t hurt to give them a call. Do you have your reference number?

I called yesterday and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was really helpful. Told me they needed more bank statements and my broker hadn’t been told that. Sorted that today and sent a bit more just to cover all basis. He even said that the documents have to be vetted and if they’re ok it goes for final checks. He said roughly 14 days after statements sent due to 7 working days per set of new documents. As such, it’s always worthwhile giving them a call. They’re helpful and explain everything to you.

    Hey,

I had one as well from last year from my car insurance company (I still don’t think it was a late payment as checked bank statements and payment went through the same month but it was already too late to dispute it) and my offer was approved with no further questions asked. My credit file also showed a £800 credit card balance which I had paid off before applying but the credit file didn’t update in time so I contacted them and told them and they were fine. My LTV is 80%.
