Has anyone had issues with subjective accept? I am lead to believe that we will get an offer. We applied on the 16 October...valuation 28th October, am told 20 days delay should have a response by Friday?
How do you know you have a subjective accept. If the valuation has been done, so you know what it’s subject to? As far as I’m aware, the first vetting is just checking the paperwork supplied is all accurate and they have everything. Then it goes for a final approval, I presume by an underwriter. At least that’s what the gentleman at Nationwide told me on the phone. My timescales are the same as yours, bar a request for an up to date statement this week. As such, I’ve got to wait for that to be checked before being passed to final checks.
We went direct so can see the mortgage tracker and our application (still pending valuation) says 'subjective accept' so I'm guessing that means subject to a) hard search and b) valuation.  At least I hope that's what it means.  Our valuation is booked for 25th November and hard search done on 3rd Nov.  No other update is showing as yet.  if you are using a broker hopefully they can clarify.

Hi all, new to this forum stuff! Just can’t stand the waiting! We have had our joint mortgage “referred” as we’ve relocated and adding onto our current mortgage with Nationwide. Kind of hoping that no news is good news? We had KFI on 16/10 payslips and employer details more or less straight away requested and just sat tapping our fingers waiting now :( we have used a nationwide mortgage consultant as that’s who we’re with anyway. Already have the deposit in the bank from the old house as we’ve already sold that and currently living with family whilst we wait for Nationwide to do their thing. Not sure whether to check in with Nationwide or not? Or just sit tight and wait? Keep seeing that people are receiving txts and things and have none of those yet  :(
Hi, my broker submitted mine on the same day. I think if you’re referred at the outset it’s 20 working days for them to review the initial paperwork. I got a text on the 19th to confirm the application was received, so it can’t hurt to give them a call. Do you have your reference number?

I called yesterday and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was really helpful. Told me they needed more bank statements and my broker hadn’t been told that. Sorted that today and sent a bit more just to cover all basis. He even said that the documents have to be vetted and if they’re ok it goes for final checks. He said roughly 14 days after statements sent due to 7 working days per set of new documents. As such, it’s always worthwhile giving them a call. They’re helpful and explain everything to you.
Hi, don’t have a reference number. We had the KFI is it the same reference? Surely I can just contact our mortgage consultant and find out what status is? We submitted payslips and docs required the day after and provided EA details and solicitors so they should have everything they need. We bank with Nationwide too and are porting and adding mortgage too up so was thinking no news is good news 😆

I think I’m doing my brokers head in. I was the one that told them Nationwide needed more statements. Their opinion is that I should stop worrying as I have an AIP. I probably should, but I’ve never been someone to rest easy with financial things.

I think mines at a similar point or will be at the end of the week apart from my valuations been done and approved.

Yes it’s the same reference. Yes you probably could. I’d tried to ask my broker what the stages were and didn’t really get much, so I thought I’d been cheeky and ask the lender directly. Especially as Nationwide seem to have a different timescale and process stages differently for some applications. You could just speak to your mortgage consultant and yours is a different type of application to mine. I’m a FTB and new customer.

Thanks Emma, fingers crossed we hear something soon. Sounds like we’re at similar stages. Guy in the chat says likelihood is everything’s sorted and probably just sat in a like awaiting a stamp to go through so I’m giving them a call Monday to confirm. Has made me feel a bit better to talk to someone at Nationwide about it :) want to be excited about new house but still feeling anxious 😦

I spoke to someone on the chat today and that’s what they told me. We had an email confirming they have all paperwork and the valuation has been done hard search 25th October.. now are just waiting, but not sure if it’s just for the final check, surely they would not make people wait all this time for bad news? I feel like I’m in limbo the waiting is driving me insane!

Yes it’s horrible isn’t it. I guess everything has been initially approved. As they did ask for another statement to confirm the maintenance that was in my application. I think it’s just a final check to make sure everything matches up. I know the credit check is reviewed as well before being passed for final checks, so I can only assume there are no major red flags. I guess the final check just looks at everything as a whole and in more detail. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good I’m glad you were able to talk to someone. Let me know how you get on Monday. Hopefully it’s good news for us all after the wait. 🙂

Just wanted to update everyone, my application was declined by Nationwide after a lengthy wait. Then applied to Barclays who accepted the application within a week and 3 days. Don't despair if Nationwide say no.
