    Hi guys
I’ve made an application to Nationwide through a broker. I foolishly didn’t check all three credit files (rookie error) and turns out I have a late payment 14 months ago. Was an error with Anglian Water when closing the account and I settled it as soon as I got the letter, but 30 day late payment marked on credit file. Anyway, found this out after the application had been submitted and now panicking. I’ve disputed it, because the bill they sent had no due date and I had a direct debit in place and when I spoke to them they confirmed the last direct debit in July would cover the full balance...obviously it did not and they needed more. Has anyone had a mark like this and still had an offer. I’m expecting to get a decline before I can sort this with Anglian Water. Some people tell me as it’s just one late payment it’s not a track record and they will understand, but I’m not so sure.

Any help from those with offers would be of some reassurance.
  • Just heard from our MB that he has been in touch with BDM and has managed to get our application escalated. It will be looked at tomorrow and go to final checks within 48 hours. Hopefully this whole fiasco will be over one way or another this week.

Apparently we had been referred and we will hear by the end of next week. How does it take two weeks to review some documents!?! I just don’t think this is going to be good news.
We’re a week ahead of you and last week we were told by our broker that our application had been sent for final checks.
The waiting is awful isn’t it, especially when I read that people are getting decisions quite quickly.

I’m trying so hard to stay positive but I’m like you, the longer it goes on the more worried I’m getting.

Really hope it goes well for you! 🤞🏻
Same here!! Exactly the same position as you!
We’ll keep everything crossed for each other that we get an offer soon!
    Fingers, toes, legs, everything! 🤣

I noticed on your timeline that you submitted your proof of deposit. Is that the second time you submitted it just out of curiosity?

Their relaxness does depend on the LTV we found.

    What is your LTV?
I’m using help to buy, so technically only 75%.

Ah I wouldn’t think it’d be much of an issue.
We opted for 85% in the end, but did apply for the 90% and even at DIP stage wouldn’t accept as my partner had placed £20 on skybet.
It seems there a lot less strict on those with lower LTVs with this sort of thing, but may be best to ask your MB?

It was, but I hadn't saved quite enough so they must of wanted to see the whole amount before proceeding. Luckily I was able to save the rest quickly.

They asked to see mine twice, I think the first time I sent it, it didn’t show the actual balance. My fault for being a twerp really 🤣

It’s hard trying to keep the positivity going isn’t it.
Hopefully we both will hear a decision soon. Good luck.
